Question Furion 6 setup?

Hi all!!

So, I've recently purchased a used F6. It should be here sometime next week. I'm curious about the gear it comes with, mainly the esc.

This is what it comes with...

- KDE 600XF-530 Motor
-CC ICE2 160 HV
-Hercules Super BEC G2
-Gens Ace 3850 Mah 6S 35C
-SAVOX 1258TG
-SAVOX 1290MG
-MA Tail slider upgrade
-Rail Tail Blades
-Mavrik WC PRO FBL620 Main Blades
-SK720 Blue

I'm not sure what pinion is going to come with it could be a 12 or 13t.

Do you think having such a large esc is going to cause any issues? I notice most of you on 12s are running a 120hv esc.

Also is there anything in particular that I need to watch out for with this heli? From what I've read it seems like a really well built heli. I've also read that there cold be some issues with tail vibes?

Any help would be appreciated....

Only thing I would suggest is to check the balance. Those batteries may be too heavy. About 600 grams each is what you want. Some love the SVox servos, others hate them. I have no experience with them.

Should be fine, my only concern would be the sk720 blue. Its an older model so not sure about software.... it is not shown on the skookum website but skookum is pretty helpful. Send art an email he could help you out.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Scott.....I will check the cog for sure! What have you heard about the servos?

Crash.....I've looked into the Sk720 a bit, and as far as I can tell it can only be updated to the 3.40 firmware

I have also ordered the new tail plates and tuff strut 3's and a spare belt, it also has the new pro slider on the tail. Have you guys had problems with tail vibes before?

My plan is to tear it down and re-build it myself just for piece of mind!

No tail vibe problems. The heli is great and you wont find upgrade parts, there simply not needed. With the exception of the custom heli parts tail fin, keeps tail rotor up a little higher.

ya I've read about that too... How high do the blades sit off the ground with the stock tail fin?

The fin does not determine the height of the blades off the ground. The CHP fin is longer, so protects the blades better.

Some feel the Savox servos run hot and consume a lot of amps. Again, just talk at my field and chatter at some FF's. Not personal info. If you do not like them, swap them out later.

I've heard everything from belt should be "banjo tight" to loose. I personally ran the belt tight as I could get it and feel this led to failure. Now, I loosen the tail boom, and with batteries on-board, hang the heli by the tail. Then I tighten the boom. Belt is tight, but not ridiculous and no more early failures.

Makes sense about the fin! I was thinking about trying a 700 size fin or adding a spacer under the rear skid bracket. Not too sure how that would work out though.

I've read about the hanging method for belt tension, it's good to know it's been working for you!

I'm also thinking about trying the new rjx hv servos and selling the savox, but I may do that over the winter.

The SK720 blue is a great system. It does not show in their website since they have a new model, yet the previous one is great, and can also operate with the GPS should you want to use it.
There's a few such systems in my field and they all do fine.

Thats good to hear!! I should have it up and running by next weekend....just waiting for some parts! I'm not sure if there is a Canadian distributor for MA, so I ordered directly from them. Shipping was cheaper from MA than it was from Heliproz??

I do not lube the belt. Static is not an issue with the F6 either.

People say static isn't an issue, yet I had to ground my boom to stop errors in the VBar log.

I looks like a great setup. I have 2 Furion 6s. I am running The Savox servos on one and Align servos on the other. I have had no issues with either servo. They fly great. I didn't see a radio battery on the list. I personally run a separate pack for the Electronics. I mount it on the bottom of the C/F Electronics Plate. that way there is no change in balance.

Thanks fly.... no extra battery on the list cause I'm gonna use a Hercules bec off 6s.

I'm gonna use the new rjx hv servos on the f6 and put the savox on my x5.

I've also purchased a yge 160 and I'm gonna use that instead of the cc 160. The reason I bought one so big is that I eventually want a 700.... so the cc is for sale if anyone wants it!!

Sam.... I guess I'll see if I have any problems, did it throw errors right away?
