Default You KNOW you're a HELI-JUNKIE when.....

You know you're a heli junkie when...

1.You buy parts you don't need just because you KNOW the store will be outta stock ONE DAY, and the thought of being unable to fix your crash puts you into the shakes.

2. You forget to pack your lunch for work, but you remember to pack your mSR.

3. You mow the lawn and start your laundry after work on Friday, so Saturday is free for YOU KNOW WHAT.

Anybody else got some??

You notice the tracking is out on your ceiling fan.

You know, I was starring at my ceiling fan thinking it was out of track. I don't feel so bad about it now.

You mow the lawn so your mCPX/4G6/250 doesn't get entangled in it when landing in emergency.

You remembered to pack your lunch and realised you failed to pick the bag with mCPX to work and be depressed whole day long it wasn't other way round!

When upgrading your Protos to carbon & stretched save all the parts from 1. (when you bought parts because you knew you'll crash, etc) and start planning getting another motor, feathering servos, ESC to be able to use all the 'left over parts' so you can build another one!

When it's easier to wake up at the crack of dawn to go flying on Saturday than it is to wake up an hour later during the week to go to work.

... when you get into an argument with your wife which weather forecast web site is better as one has nice pictures and overall wind speed and another has smaller pictures/no pics at all but wind reading is more precise and it shows forecast wind speed and gusts!!!

When you've seen three or four of these threads now but still find them hilarious.

When you make a mental note of every field you pass while driving.

When you worry about spending $15 at lunch but don't hesitate spending $190 on an mCP X.

YEAH...Especially that last one. IN fact I even use heli's as a monetary unit:
Wife says we need a new dishwasher. I think: "That's 3.5 heli's"

Work a Saturday? 1mCPx + four batteries...that kinda thing.

What about us recognising themselves in *all* the statements?

I'm sure the realization that you may have a "heli problem" comes to us all in different ways.

For me it was when I was flying out of town for a long weekend (Friday - Monday) and bought an aluminum fitted carrying case for my T-rex 450, spent a chunk of time researching TSA rules on carrying lipos, and subjected myself to a lot of funny looks at security (did you know 2200mah bats with wires sticking out of them look remarkably similar to blocks of explosives on an x-ray machine? ) just so I could bring my 450, my msr, my mcpX, and the Tx, batteries, charger, and power supply all with me.

It was totally worth it though, because the folks I was visiting live in New Orleans on the west bank across the street from the river, and I got to fly my 450 from the top of the levee, even doing brave little swoops out over the Mississippi...

Anyways, as I was carefully packaging everything so I would not be without my beloved helis for *4* days, it occurred to me I MIGHT have developed some sort of addiction

My wife asks me what I'm laughing at a couple nights ago. It's the comment about "your ceiling fan blades not tracking right". So she knows about being a helifreak. I walk out of my shop tonight and she says "Dead Battery". Yeah, but I got 4 more, So I'm telling her about hovering sideways after taking off the training gear and doing a 180* turn and hovering sideways from the other direction. I can see she's really excited now. Then she says. "You can tell your a helifreak when it gets you more excited than sex". Time for another battery.
