Default mCX Battery Connector Information

Hi guys, this is the mating connector for the 110 mAH E-Flite battery. I built up a cable for my Triton 2 charger and it works like a charm.

Molex P/N 51047-0200 (housing)
Molex P/N 50125-8000 (pins)

These can be purchased at www.mouser.com

Mouser P/N 538-51047-0200 (housing)
Mouser P/N 538-50125-8000 (pins)

Marvelous. Big contribution. This is a solution to be able to load with our habitual chargers.

Can you plug the battery directly to the 538-51047-0200?

However I can't find the pin 50125-8000. I only can find 50125-8100.

Can you put the link to that item?
Thank you.

for myself I use a JST connector and the citabria Parkzone connector. So I can charge my eflite mcx battery on my usual charger, working great.

here is the link of the citabria or cessna connector

50125-8100 is the same pin, the only difference is the 50125-8000 is on a reel, the other is not. (Mouser did not have the 50125-8100 in stock).

Yes, you can plug the battery directly to the 51047-0200, but you need to have the pins for the electrical connection.

This is the exact same plug that is on the helicopter, the one in the charger is a board mounted connector.

I had to replace my motors last week. I took a look at the motor connectors and realized that the pins are spaced exactly like the battery connector. The only thing is that the pins are round and you have to be gentle when connecting to the battery(they have to be inserted at a very slight angle). I used red sharpie marker to dictate the orientation of the connector to the battery. Works like a charm. So when your motors give up the ghost, use the connectors for charging.

Yes - same question from me - matching male connector, the one that goes on the batt; any idea where to get these? Thanks.

So I tried to do the solder mod on my battery connector and completely fragged it. I found the parts VertocalDave posted, but then I looked up the crimping tool for them and it's damn near $300! My question is this: will I need the crimper to install the pins correctly or is there some other way to do it? I'm an electronics noob (hence the botched soldering job :o), so please dumb down your replies

$300?! if it's the same crimper it's more like $20. my bro got one to do futaba servo ends. he won't pay that kind of cash for a tool. i'll find out where (10 to 1 lhs), and how much tomorrow.

It's the one made by Molex for the pins/housing posted above. I got the P/N off of the datasheet AverageJoe posted.

http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine....ord=63811-0300

So I may have exaggerated...it's closer to $229, but still...no way in hell I'm buyin a tool that costs more than 2x the price of the heli

If there's a $20 version that will do the job, I'll wash your car and walk your dog!

Just buy this..
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=PKZ3052

Then solder the wire. Doesnt introduce enough resistance to matter. This plug is WAY stronger and tighter than the stock mCX one. I love it! I ordered one on ebay for like $2.50 shipped. lol

Note: The wires are short, so it wont make it all the way to the board, but if you are smarter than a chimp, you can make a good solder joint, shrink wrap it, then its better than new.
