WOOOHOOO!! Maidened my Hurricane Today + Big Thanks
WOW
How cool is the feeling of a successful Maiden flight! I just got back from my maiden flights with my newly acquired and set up Hurricane. I managed to fly 3 sets of batteries, the first set was a bit wobbly made a few changes like blade tracking and a few clicks of trim. the other two flights were just awesome! It was a bit windier than i would have liked but she was rock steady! I would have never flown my Shogun in the wind we had today Will post some pics later today when Jungle Bob downloads them from his camera. I would like to publicly thank one of my Best Mates and the most generous man you could wish to meet, the afore mentioned Jungle Bob. Without whom I would still be frustrated on the sim! Bob has been kind enough to donate my first real heli a Shogun V2 complete ready to fly including two flight power 1800's!, minus TX and RX and enough spare parts to build another (including the sexy Titanium frame its currently wearing). And now since he upgraded his hurricane to the Carbon Pro he has donated his Standard framed Hurricane to yours truly. Did I mention I had my maiden flight with it today?!, all i needed to do was add the electronics. He is one of the nicest, sincerest and most generous blokes you could ever wish to meet. CHEERS MATE YOUR A STAR! Big thanks to all who have assisted with lots of useful information and Of course Finless Bob for the most useful Build Vids. You can just feel the love!! Cheers Guys Ben |

ahh shucks guys.........come on!!, I'm getting all emotional here. I do do what Wasser says but not without an ulterior motive. I surround myself with good guys who also share experiences, time and skills, people who are happy to help me set up, repair and get parts for my helis...is this not what the hobby is all about? Wasser...pleasure mate.

A couple of pics to celebrate Wasser's maiden. Sorry to those of you enduring winter at the moment, but this was our 'field' today!

Oh well - each to his own, I'd much rather have a freezing cold football pitch covered in dog poo than have to put up with all of the sun that you have to do

Hi Mjdee
Yep. We fly there! Saturday mornings and we have no prejudices. Yesterday we had planks, helis, kites, cars... we even had a 'flyby' by our own company Jetranger yesterday. A really nice bunch of guys. Ben and I are the only 'white guys'. Muslim, Christian, Hindu...all religions covered. We sit under the shade of trees and chit chat, tinker with helis and fly. I do miss the frozen dog poo infested fields of the UK...NOT! The sport is quite new here so parts are an issue but we have Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur not far away Anyone is welcome and, as this is one of the best kept secrets of South East Asia, why not come and visit us? .

And yes I have already been diagnosed with RCHELIITUS its a very contagious and very damaging to your wallet and spare time! I'm sure most people here suffer and i treat this forum more like a help group than anything else! We have a real nice bunch of people here. The local Malaysians are a very friendly bunch and welcome us Orang Puith (white man) with open arms they are very warm relaxed people. The guys we fly with are also pretty good pilots with myself and Jungle being the least skilled. Bob is a pretty confident pilot in forward flight I am by far the beginner of the bunch but am determined to catch up quickly! Niel and Jamal are also good pilots but i think Mark is the most proficient Heli pilot capable of most 3D. We have a good laugh share information and parts and general help each other as much as poss. RC guys are a great bunch! |
