I don't do it on a bench, just take it outside. You don't need a large area as you are just spooling and standardizing gov store.

If you have the lcd box just do it at the field, hobbywing with lcd box + spartan vortex with datapod = quick tuning at the field for me.

Ever since I got my TAB3 tuning the VBars just got that easy! if I have someone I trust there even better cause I can have them tune me in flight!

I guess I'll try it for myself and see what works

Thanks for pointing out the error. The OP has been corrected.

The interesting part is im not so sure it matters. I have 3 helis governed using the 100% method and they are rock solid.

Ok I have a few flights now on my X5 with this V3 , works great so far and \bec is holding up 4 BLS servos ... I will try the "store" in the next few days .

did you guys noticed in the manual it says
" for best speed governing effect, we recommend setting PWM at 32 KHZ "

I think I have mine at 12 with stock Scorpion motor ...anyone tried 32 ??

Didn't see that in the manual but then again i did not read the whole thing. I have a stutter with my scorp on initial spool up and gonna try some different pwm values tomorrow.
I have it at 8kHz right now..

I tried 32pwm on my Scorp 2520-1880 and it was sputtering in flight

Hi..
i have the 50A on a 2520-1880 in my X3 @ 32Khz and 24° Timing, it runs fantastic, Gov ist realy amazing.

Also hav the 100A on a 4020-1350KV in the Sirocco 475 @32KHz and 22° Timing, also runs perfekt.
Love this Esc's and hope there will follow a 160A HV in Future

best greets from Austira

watch out I read several reports of ESC burning when using 8 Khz and Scorpion motors , I would change it to 12 at least...

I run mine 12 degrees with 32pwm, runs smooth as.

EDIT: I'm sure you have the latest firmware, but there was one released earlier this year (Feb/March?) that fixed sputtering with 2520-1880kv, has to do with it being 10pole.

That doesn't happen with the new platinum v3's, just the old platinum's.

It's why everyone is keen on new 120hv v3's and above, as the old ones.. have issues.

Had one test flight after programing Gov store, works really good , I also changed PWM to 32, timing to18 , my motor was just warm and ESC was cold ! it also seem to have more power that way...
For $70 I love it !

I think i am really the unlucky one here..
When going up in timing and PWM the tail just doesn't keep up and kicks like crazy
in high collective pitch changes. Upping the tail gain is not making it better.

I really miss a feature to lower the gain on the governor or if anyone else would give
a solution to this.

I fitted a TYG 306HV now to see if it is any better than the previous DS520.

Is there anything i am missing here..

Nothing to it really..
Turn your tx on and set the stick to full throttle..
power up the esc, it will emit 3 tones followed shortly by 2 more..move stick to lowest position. No it will emit the normal startup tones... done!

I redid mine completely from default to hopefully get it to work better with my 2520

I can tell everyone that Governor works great on the unit.

**Everyone needs to know, on the Platinum 50a v3 DO NOT RUN THE BEC AT 7.4 VOLTS!**

I was able to brown out the 50 amp unit on the bench with some KST215's
When set to 6volts I was unable to brownout.
Note that I have not tested the BEC on my Platinum 100 v3 yet, perhaps I will have different results.
I haven't been able to brown mine out at 7.4v despite lots of load and rapid movement on the servos.
