Default New YGE 90lv V2

Hi Guys,

I want to know if the YGE 90lv V2 with the new improved bec of 8 amp's continuous and 18 amp's peak has a cut-through protection (which means the battery voltage won’t get through to the receiver if the BEC is accidentally damaged)?

Thanks

the new esc that ppl call v2 is actually v5 - 8A bec 18A peek ; no backflow protection

What can be done to protect the electronics in the event of a failure?
Thanks

So we are trying to limit the full current from flowing from the flight packs to the RX/FBL/servos in the event of a BEC failure??

That Opti BEC Guard will clamp anything over 10 V and then shutdown. I am thinking of getting it, but it's $40 and they recommend 1 per master and 1 per slave power output from the BEC -- so that's $80 per standalone BEC or ESC/BEC .

Ragge1, how does this Schottky diode rectifier that you posted work & how does it prevent massive current from the main battery from going through in event of BEC failure vs. allowing regular 5A 8.4V per master / slave connection out of the YGE90LV v2? I looked at the spec sheet for that thing from International Rectifiers, but can't yet make sense of it.

thanks

The new Version (V2)
  • BEC 8A duration. 18A peak
  • 5,7V /7,4V/8V adjustable by jumpers
  • The BEC is short circuit proof and temperature supervised
  • Two Receiver cables (Masters/Slave)
  • RPM output for VStabi

I went ahead and ordered a v1 90lv with power bec from mikado usa and I just got it in the mail. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and saw v2 8A/18A bec. If you are looking for the v2, order from Mikado USA. They have them.
