How big is your indoors? In my house only the Nano cpx is small enough to 3d comfortably and safely.

How are your flying skills? Anything other then an Mcx or Mcx2 would be tough to do anything other then hover around in a living room unless you have exceptional skills.

Depends what you think mild 3d is really, nano cpx should be your best bet though. You would be surprised how small a standard dining room feels when your flying even a small nano cpx

I have seriously lost count of the number of times I crashed my nano, and recently the only thing I seem to keep needing to replace is the batteries!

I'm looking at a Nano cpx for an indoor trainer however in all my reading seems the Nano cpx burns out many motors and main boards! I'm concerned about reliability. Thinking maybe a mcpx bl dialed down with a quality computer tx maybe be a more reliable indoor trainer. This providing I stick with hover orientation training for now overtop of some soft play mat type surface. Or maybe the main board/motor issue is not as bad as I think?

I've never had a board problem with my nano even after hundreds of crashes (I literally taught myself how to fly by buying a nano and crashing it over and over again until I figured it out). But maybe I've just been lucky. On the other hand I have gone through at least a dozen main motors. Meanwhile I'm on my 3rd board on my MCPX BL with no where near the number of crashes. The second board died on the first crash.

For training I would recommend the nano over the MCPX BL. The nano is tamer and gives you a better chance to recover from moving the stick the wrong way. Both take a pretty good beating but the nano you basically just pick it up, check the main gear didn't move, and go back to flying. The MCPX BL parts go flying. So you need to find all the pieces and put it back together again. I would also recommend a fiberglass canopy on the MCPX BL. If you hit a wall and the blades deflect down it will literally cut the stock canopy in two. Finally the nano hurts a lot less then the MCPX BL when you hit yourself with it.

For indoors? - The nanoCPX. And I highly recommend the Blade PnP brushless upgrade (BLH3325). Installs in 5 minutes - no soldering required and you don't need to keep buying replacement motors.

I'm hoping that Blade's follow-up to the recent 180CFX and upcoming 360CFX will be a 2S nanoCFX with stronger skids.

In my experience a MCPX BL is not meant to crash, it will break. However, the nano CPX I crash all the time with no problems. The engine is under powered for good 3D is a small space, but they do have a brushless upgrade if you want.

the 45c 150mah e-flite batteries seem to add about 20% more power to the nano cpx. major improvement over the stock 25c 150mah batteries.

Good to hear, I ordered 5 of them last night, along with another nano cpx . Always good to buy in pairs. Less downtime.
