idle up switch on stock Tx

so i havent gotten to the point of flying 3D yet but i dont even know how to go about it so to speak..ha! what does the idle up switch do exactly? ive hit it before and know that i dont like it right now haha. is that what u switch to fly 3D? im getting to the point where im going to hopefully start trying...

All it does is run your motor full speed constantly. So for example if you put it in idle up the throttle stick would only control the pitch of your blades. Some of the reasons for this mode is that you have better control of you heli when running at full speed and so you can do 3d tricks like flying inverted or tic tocs.

makin more sense now thanks! i read somewhere as well that you should not switch this untill u are light on the skids and 50% throttle ish as to not strip your main gear or anything..correct?

I wouldn't hit that thing until you are in full hover mode, for right now anyway. But yes when you hit it you want to have some good head speed gong on.
