Default My first FF

After 6 flights just hovering I decided to try my first ever forward flight. Its easier in real life than in Phoenix I'd say! What a rush!
This is my first heli so I cant compare to much but I love this machine
I should have edited away the first minutes, Im adjusting the gyro gain, you can see its too high at the beginning

Thanks MaWWaM! Hopefully I'll need my own soccer pitch too some day; like kashew, I still have the training wheels (wife's term) on, and about 30 feet square is about all the area I can handle. It is nice to see flight that is "realistically" in my future, unlike the 3d stuff that makes my head spin.

It was a happy day
It's probably sooner than you think! I don't know if I'm the one to give advice at learning to fly helis, I've only been at this for about six weeks. When I preordered the 450 I got Phoenix sim and a whole month doing only sim till the heli came. I practiced hovering all directions then doing eights until they were descent. Now I'm practicing backwards eights and inverted hovering in the sim. This month on the sim was worth everything when the heli came! It was easier irl than on the computer!
I guess what I'm saying is that the sim is worth it's money ten times
Looking forward to see your videos!
Cheers!

I'll second THAT emotion.

WOW.

So far, I've only been only flying a 120 SR for a few weeks... but I have the Phoenix sim, and I'm hoping one day to work my way up to the 450 3D (if Horizon ever returns my recalled DX6i).

I can't tell you how encouraging it is to see a newcomer being able to fly "simple" figure-8's that well with this bird. My hat is off to all of you magicians out there who have mastered 3D flight... but MaWWaM's video makes me feel like maybe it IS possible for an ordinary human being to control one of these CP's, too.

Thanks, MaWWaM. VERY smooth flyin'!

Nice ror! Seems your tail wants to drift a little to the right just as mine do!
Great job in the wind!

Ill post some of Jay and Myself, but my flying is at the Hover and OH sHeit.. whew that was a close save stage as many others might be.. Just dont be afraid to post the vid.. it inspires everyone that no mater your skill level This heli is a BLAST.. err a BLADE!!!!

Well, DANG! Very nice!

I can fly just like that, uh, until 0:50 that is...

No parrots were harmed in the making of this video, I hope?

I hope HH is paying Hamish for his marketing of the 450, cause that was awesome! I read an article in a magazine that said the 450 could do some 3d, I would say that it does some 3d pretty well.

Can we get his radio settings? or is that top secret beta stuff? I'm curious to see the set-up of someone with that kind of skill. I cant believe that a $300 helicopter is capable of that kind of performance. I am really happy with my decision to purchase the 450, now its time to practice practice practice!

Default 1st Flight B450

My 1st flight. Very nerve racking for sure. Just about lost it before this was filmed.
It was harder than I thought but somehow not so..
All the practice with Phoenix helped. It did feel a bit sloppy. I must check the mode it was not a sharp as the 120sr which i have on high rate and the fast ball link setup on the head.
But least i took it home in one piece which is always a bonus

Congrats! Always like to see video.
Just a tip, have your cameraman hold the iPhone sideways for that landscape mode. Makes for a larger video and can just see more that way
