Default Align T7N pro worth getting?

Hi! my friend is selling his Trex 700N pro, I wanted to get it because of the price he offers me, but I want to ask some hobbyist that has experience with this? i mean can you guys still get parts for the T700N pro? i know that align has already the DFC nitro and who knows they might introduce another nitro because I checked their site and the Nitro dfc there is on sale. we all know that if some kits are on sale, something new is coming haha. btw my friend's T7 has the stock electronics and align 91 engine.

Parts are still very readily available. And as Align goes they will be available for a very long time. Amain.com, Aligntrexstore.com, and many many others sell parts and have reasonable shipping prices.

Find the manual for your particular helicopter and look at the part list and exploded view to find the correct part if you are unsure which to get. Align has many versions of their helicopters but a quick view of the manual will quickly clear up any confusion on which part you need. Is the one your friend is selling flybarred or flybarless?

Look through here to find the correct manual.

Does it have the 3G head or EFL? If it's 3G I can give you the manual. 3G is the one where the swash drivers are on a separate piece from the head block. EFL is where the drivers screw directly to the head block.

Does it have that exact head? Align has several heads and the different 700s came with different heads. There's also a possibility that it's an older version upgraded to DFC or other head.

Ask him if he can measure the internal frame width. That will make it much easier to determine the version. As well as a picture of the head.

If it doesn't have the slant main gear odds are very good it's the older frame model with the dfc head added later. Nothing wrong with that, just gotta know which it is to find parts.

Yeah I just read that post. Straight cut main gears, most likely is the older version.

If it's a good deal nothing wrong with older model 700N. I'm going on almost 5 years with mine, and have simply just upgraded to newer parts when I wanted to. If you have any questions regarding it if you purchase, please free to post here. Myself and others are certainly willing to answer any questions you may have.

I would not be concerned about the DFC head. The heli does not need it. It is perfect the way it is. I have been flying this model for 4 years and I love it.

I know its perfect in that way, because my friend here smack his T7N really hard, I just want to upgrade it to the new look of the Align DFC 700N because I like the style of the canopy, that's why I'm asking what parts do I need to have it like that, another thing this is a nitro and maintenance is regular. what parts do I have to stock in order to keep her in the air?

The 700N DFC is a totally different set of parts, at least lots of them are. The DFC model (not DFC converted, I mean a true DFC version) has a much narrower frame, bigger fuel tank, black stronger gears, non-stepped tail shaft, as well as a few other small changes.

I guess i need to buy the whole new t7p0N dfc kit then. But I'll try to fly my friend's T7 first without changing anything. Honestly I just like the color of the Trex 700N dfc canopy that's why I'm willing to upgrade it to that kit.
