OK folks for your watching pleasure I went to the Bakersfield Funfly and let Tim Jones fly might Knight3D.... He tweaked on my gyro a little more to get the piro rate consistent (I had not done any of that yet) and then took it for a ride. He did not like the stock paddles or the blades I was using. While I like them OK for his style he wanted something stiffer. Needless to say he rocked it and as you can hear really liked the heli.

Way cool, Bob! One of the best Knight 3D vids yet. Which Funkey blades are you using? I'm flying the silver ones on my 3D (like the ones that ship with the Century Raven) and they are definitely slower / softer than Radix, which I fly on my 600E.

I've switched to the KBDD paddles on both of my Knights and really like how they fly. They seem a bit less "pitchy" than the stockers, but are still plenty fast. And I love the colors, of course.

Oh, and if you want to firm up the tail stops, I'd say (and CY agrees) swap out the KBDD tail blades and go carbon. I love the way the KBDD looks in the air, but there is a big difference in tail feel when you go to carbon!

Hey Chris.... Tail stop is good for me... I ain't no stick banger doing hard piro's
I am going to try the KBDD paddles this weekend. I am sticking with the Funkey (non-silver) blades for now as for me and my style of flying I am good with them.

But even though Tim didn't like how soft they were he still flew the crap out of that heli man... Good enough for me

Me neither on the stick banging! I think we're birds of a feather there. I mentioned it because James had better luck dialing in the Solid G on his Knight after switching from KBDD to CF blades. The guys at CYE said the flexible blades can confuse the gyro, and they don't run plastic blades on anything bigger than 450s. I've been flying KBDD on my 600E, but just picked up a set of CF blades to use.

Ain't it fun to let someone who's really good fly your heli just so you know what it's capable of, even if you aren't? I was like that when I let Robert Ables fly my 600E.

Yep... I love it when a great pilots rings out my heli.... Especially when they let me film it

Not trying to brag or anything but I can fly and do way more than I show in my flight review videos. When I am making a vid I take it easier and stay with stuff I can do well. I just want to show the heli and not make a mistake that might show the heli has a problem or something because of my lame piloting skills.... But I can shake it up a bit so while yes having someone WAY better than me fly my helis is fun, I don't really need that to know a good flying heli when I fly one

I just tried some yesterday and have taken them off already because they rotated out of alignment in flight. Seems the set screws used on almost every other 50 size paddle are necessary after all.

Funny you mention that, I had the same thing happen to one of my KBDD paddles this weekend too. But only one, out of the four installed. I wonder if maybe I stripped this one or something during installation?

I'm going to try putting some Gorilla glue in the hole and reinstall it. If that doesn't hold, it's back to stock paddles until I go flybarless.

Nice canopy and fins - like the tray to stop your K3D getting contaminated from your bench
