Logo 500 or Gaui X5?
The Logo 500 and the Gaui X5 are the only two 500s I hear nothing but good about. Thinking of buying one. I'm an intermediate sport flier; 3D's still a way off. Why did you choose the Logo over the X5? Would you do it again?

Lower part count on logo. Easier to build.

I'm not 100% sure but isn't the max blade length of the X5 ~530mm. I'd go with the lLogo 500 hands down. The fact you can cheaply move up to spin up to 620's is a huge selling point for me.

I'm currently split between the 2 too. Have a Logo 600 currently but used to owned Logo 400 and 500 previously. Sold both away but sort of regretted it.
Frankly logo really flies well, low parts counts and its really very low in maintenance. However I really cannot make up my mind bcos of the many good feedback I read about and the YouTube videos of the gaui X5. The X5 comes in a super combo that includes all but receiver and lipos. The initial investment is much lower as compared to the logo 500. Nowadays the pricing of logo 500 as compared to logo 600 is really close. Check out the Logo 600 combos offered by ksmodel.com.hk. makes me wonder whether I should just buy another logo 600 instead of the 500. Sorry for the babbling, its just that I have been struggling with this decision for quite a while. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

You could buy a 600 and do like I did here:
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=386440 Then you have room to grow to a 600/600SE, can't do that with an X5

I had a logo 600 and an x5. I sold the logo due to the cost of crashing. The x5 parts to me are closer to a 450 in pricing. Flight wise. They are both great. My primary advice, buy what you can afford to crash. This was a few year ago. I think both helis has not changed

If you are thinking of a logo then you are not worried about the price.Tthe X5 is nice but the Logo has the potential of being a 550/600/623 or 690mm machine with little fuss and you can run it from as little as a 6s all the way to 12s.
It builds fast and easy it almost pisses you off because you wonder why you paid this much for a heli that is this damn easy to build with such a small parts count. Then you fly it and you totally understand. It's smooth and quiet and it almost seems to make you a better pilot because it's so floaty and quick in the air. My 2 cents on it.

If we are not worried about cost, then we should all be flying TDRs not logos

all joking aside, I have crashed both helis since I owned both. just saying if cost is a factor, then the X5 becomes a contender. If cost is not a factor, then we all know what he will pick. But flight performance, they are both very good. Actually very close I know many wont like to hear that. but I am just saying how it is when I had them.

I haven't flown the X5, but hear good things about it. That said, I'd still get the Logo because, as mentioned, it's very flexible and can go from swinging 530s to 690s with few parts changes.

But back to the topic either heli you like go for it one thing to consider is parts. Mikado parts are easy to get but are limited to two vendors on our side of the pond and Gaui where you won't find it in your LHS they have a few more US vendors. Good luck on your choice.
