Help flashing sk540
I have searched and am struggling to find anything additional I can try. I have two sk540's and I can't seem to update either of them right now. One is on version 4.08, and the other is on a really old version (pre 4.0)...for this I will focus on the newer one on 4.08.
I followed the steps described here: https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...75&postcount=2 I confirmed that everything was erased afterwards. I also am plugged into my BEC (nothing else plugged in, not even satellites right now), and confirmed that the right voltage is seen by the sk540. I am using windows 7, and have tried both usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 ports. So plugged into BEC, then plugged into USB, saw it connect to the app. I can push new setup to it fine. I go to Utilities -> Check for updates. I then see that it is running 4.08, and that 4.18 is the newest. I click update and after a few seconds I get an error "Failed to update". It does not describe how or why it failed sadly. I checked the err_log.txt but it appears to be empty. The only difference in behavior with the older unit is that it seems to take longer to fail, but otherwise the message and behavior seems to be the same. Any suggestions on what I can try to get these updated? I probably am paying the price for waiting so long...I know I should probably update more frequently. Thanks for your help |

4.08 is the latest version I've found. Setup version is 4.09b. You shouldn't be seeing 4.18.

Hummm, I have version 4.09 of the software (which seems to be the latest). It was not clear to me how the software versions and the firmware versions are linked.
When I go to the update screen I see it listing as 4.09 being the latest software rev, but 4.18 as the latest gyro firmware rev. I have attached a screenshot of what I am seeing. Maybe this is a bug? |

I welcome you as the newest beta tester! At any rate, Skookum or one of the inner circle will have to comment on this. Dan

Okay, I will email my serial numbers tonight when I get home. What's weird is that both my sk540's are seeing that 4.18 version, kind of surprising that both would get their serials on that list. But I am happy to have it figured out if that's all it is!

How fast are they normally at replying? It has been 48 hours now since I emailed, and no responses at all. Is there a better email to reach skookum at than the info one they provided in the dialog?

I have had Art reply to me at 1am on a Sunday eve at times with an instant reply. And other times it took a week. Small company with a very hard working crew. So they will get back to you!
