I don't think that there is any way to use PPM. Sbus is proprietary to futaba and is not the same as Jeti PPM. I will look into it later, but I don't think it will work.

Sorry for causing the confusion. I was trying to figure how Putputt used the single wire PPM but then reread his post and saw that it was with the Aerofly adapter, not the Simstick. My mistake.

I have a Rsat2 that I plugged into the aerofly/Ikarus USB adapter. Yes I know illegal in the US and Canada. My aerofly is in Geneva But any PPM enable receiver will work

Then I just bound it to a general model that I created in my DC-16 and assigned as many servos as I wanted to control aileron, elevator...smoke.

Open the aerofly and calibrate the receiver as usual. It was the easiest set up I ever did with the aerofly.

The only little draw back, if you had a controller that came with the aerofly you need to plug it in when you start the program so that it recognize that it is your own. You can unplug it after the program has started.

I have searched the Aerofly forum, it seems that there is no work around that because it protects them from hacking.

That is great information. Also I do not like the answer about the controller to be plugged in when you start Aerofly. I fo now shipped the USB connector to be checked but I think that's the answer I did not want to hear but may not get changed.

The part with PPm is actually really cool since I could use a R6 receiver putting it on PPM mode and plug it in. I now have to complain to Ikarus about the Game Commander part of it since I believe that they should allow another of their own units to be connected and registered without buying the complete sim again.

OK - lucky me -> support called me back from Germany (good I am native German so I discussed it in German with them). Called the US Sales side right after that and they mentioned me to ship the game Commander and they will replace it with the black dongle. That way I only need the dongle and should be able to get the connection done via the PPM signal . They did not understand that Jeti receivers are capable of delivering the PPM right away so I guess I have a bit risk left over and in worst case I might use it together with simstick or the single line converter from Ikarus.
So I will know more in 2 weeks once I am back home. They did say that I might need technical support to get it reset once I receive the black USB dongle.

Had I known all that I would have used the USB version right away. At least I am smarter now (I hope so).

Guess I should find a friend who talks german.

No biggy for me anyway and with the flying season starting I will need my simulator to get the jitter out of the way.

I will inquire about doing the same later. Thanks for the info

I got my DS-16 on Tuesday. Now I have read through the manual, tried out various features and flown one of my helis with it. I have also set it up with my quadrocopter.

Well, what can I say... I had very high expectations - this transmitter has exceeded them all. What a fantastic piece of equipment!

I never thought I could have so much fun with a new transmitter..!

I just had a chat with esprit model and the rep said that if JETI sends the amount of DS that it's saying will send, they will be able to fulfill all the backorders next week... At last some optimism

I use Heil-x and Next Sims on a Mac and the DS-16 USB cable was unfortunatly not working. Luckely I had a USB cable for my DX8 that I got off eBay and I figured I would try to solder a servo cable to it and see if it would work with the R9 in PPM out mode. Well low and behold it does!!!!

The red servo cable goes on the USB 5V+ out (pin 1 I believe)
The brown/black wire goes to the signal ground (ring from stereo plug)
The orange signal wire goes to the signal in (tip of stereo plug)

I simply plugged into pinout 1, set the R9 into PPM Positive and it worked.

Unfortunatly I could not get the RSat2 working. I believe it only outputs PPM Negative and I could not figure out how to get it to do PPM positive.

I will post pictures this weekend (I am on the road)
