GT5 A few questions
I have a Trex 550 that i thought i would install a GT5 on, I have had a Vbar and a CGY750 on it before but wanted to give the GT5 a try so ordered one and started installing it yesterday. So far everything seems pretty straight forward I set all my servo settings, swash type,rx type using Sbus, and at this point i have servos centered and have the gain working so that i have 100% on a black background and 60% on a black background. One thing i noticed is that when in setup menu while i was setting servo centers and leveling swash my swash would stay level if i gave full collective or went full negative, well it was just a fraction off on the low side. But when i go out of setup mode and work the collective stick things don't always work that way, by that i mean the swash don't always seem to stay level when going from mid stick to full stick etc. I don't remember the vbar or futaba doing that? with the heli just sitting on bench and not being moved anyone else noticed that or have that and anything to worry about?
I haven't changed the P or I for the swash yet they are at the default values, it also seems that i notice if i switch to where only have 60% gain it is less noticable. I haven't done pitch yet since don't have the head on, but did have to lower the Servo travel-complete travel to like 80 on each servo to not have any binding which suprised me a bit as i have the arms on it that i was using for the Futaba so I am not as far out on the servo arm as stock for a 550. Anyways sorry for the wall of text was just curious if things looked correct so far from those that have installed and used the GT5. Thanks Jack |

Well just another question or so then about ready to go for it, threw head on and set the pitch in the swash pitch menu had to raise it from 100 default to like 114 for 12 deg pitch.I had set the cyclic servos in the new manual #14 servo travel-complete travel to 80 so i didn't get any binding anyways while doing pitch checked cyclic pitch and i have 13 deg when at 100% gain. I really didn't think i would get that much was kinda shooting for the 8-10 deg area, so I am kinda stumped atm do i just fly it or try to lower it? Not really sure what setting to adjust to lower cyclic gain if i go lower in the servo travel menu it says it also affects collective so not sure, ideas?
#15 in the manual servo limit swash plate says you can limit travel and it doesn't affect pitch? Jack |
