Default Tail Boom Holders (Bag 2)

Next, the tail boom holders. Its important to use the M3x4mm Allen screws because anything longer would block the holes that that the bolts used to tighten the clamp on the boom would be blocked.

Default Belt Tensioner

As I noted before, I am building a 600 from a 700 kit. The 700 uses a belt tensioner, which i will retrin in the 600 build. The 600 has a simpler set of rollers, but I like the fact that the 700 tensioner will tell you how much tension the belt is under. More on that later

the preassembled tensioner is in bag one (700 Kit)

Please note Plöchinger isn't a fan of the tensioner on the 600. I had it but now fly without again. I like it better.

Thanks for the info

And Why do you like it better?

It looks like the 600 tensioner can be made from the 700. Is that right?

Glad to learn... He really did not mention any reason not to use the 700 tensioner. But then I didn't ask. He did say it was ok to use but did not elaborate beyond that

Didn't like the extra belt tension that is needed. Just hanging it by the tailboom with lipo and canopy installed suits me more.

Also the black rubber band can get off and lost easily.

Good to know.

Losing the black rubber band would be a drag

Will look into changing this to 600. Need to look at the 600 to 700 conversion docs, I think the 700 one is made from the parts of the 600 one. If so, ill be able to make it into the 600 one.

Default ESC Mounting Plate

Now, the ESC Plates goes in. This can also be mounted in a different way than I chose (for now anyway) . I have the plate in the front, but you can also have it

this is the alternative way to mount it, facing down, below the main bearing plate

Default Assembly of Main Gear

Care must be taken not to over tighten the screws. That might warp the gear, and that will be detected becuase it will then be noisy. The manual says to just tighten 'until the screws clamp straight' and to use medium strength locktite

The front is the way to mount the esc in my opinion, more cooling. For other than jive you can also turn it around. I did this for my yge to fit.

Thanks so much for the photos although some are not showing up for some reason. Mine and Marcos are ready to ship so both can't wait . I am planning on running mine using the pyro 600-12, Jive 100 LV on 6S 5000mah battery, pinion will be the 17. I will be getting 2000 rpm at 73% throttle which is sweet. I have seen videos of the 600 fly great on this setup so i have to try and see. If i don't like i got the 23 pinion for 10S setup as well.

i had moved the picts, so fixed the posts, thanks

Got my 600 belt today, will post more build pictures this afternoon.

Yes, Marcos had PM'd me about two 600s coming! We will have to stay in touch. Maybe we can get the forum to add an Acrobat Helicopter section

During my building this morning I discovered the Scorpion Scorpion HKII 4225-610 LE I am going to use does not work with the counter bearing. Emailed Stephan and as predicted he replied that this is true, and also as predicted, the Scorpion does not need it. On the TDR, Jan also says its not needed, and even says it will add unnecessary heat. Scorb mearings are bigger than Pyro bearings, and the shaft inside the motor is a larger diameter

picts to follow.

I did run the 4225 without bearing and no problem. You will also have to take a little off the c-clip or better, get rid of the little edge in the plate with a dremel.
