Default Factory brushless is very stiff??

I just installed the horizon hobby brushless on my nano and the motor seems to be very stiff. By this I mean that when I turn the blades manually with my hand I hear 'click click click.'

After flying the blades come to a complete stop whereas on my old stock brushed motor the blades would spin on their own for a little bit. Is this normal for the brushless to be so stiff? I replaced the main gear and that did not help. I should point out that the heli does fly with this motor.

Also, when I hit throttle hold the motor usually does not stop even though my throttle hold button works in binding. This leads to my heli rolling around the ground while I am desperately hitting throttle hold over and over again. I am using a DX4e so maybe the thing just has a sticky throttle hold.

It's called "cogging". Your good but save yourself some headaches and get rid of that DX4.

You need to correctly bind your dx4 with your nano, it can be tricky at first but I have seen this happen. Make sure that you read the manual or watch a video on how to bind it correctly including correct direction of the rudder stick.

Stiffness of the motor with the gear is normal, do not oil better you put your old gear back as this will smooth out quicker than the new gear.

I put the old gear back to see if that helps.

As far as binding, that I am confident I am doing correctly. Left rudder after two blinks.

Cogging? And cogging is normal? Thanks!

I know I need to get rid of the DX4e, but I really want a DX8 so I have to wait to get that. I could probably pick up a DX6i right now, but I have a feeling I will need more channels for my quadcopter in the future and will end up needing a DX8, so I am stuck for now.

Yes but It is typically the interaction between the magnets in the motor bell and the stators in out-runner motors.
