Default Have you flown a flybar heli lately?

I dusted off my old Trex 450 SE V2 and took it for a spin today. Not bad. It has been a couple of years since I have flown it. It was a very relaxing graceful flight. Then I flew my 300X, it felt like a sports car. The 300X is the biggest flybarless heli I have.

Has anybody flown a flybar helicopter lately? How did you like it?

I flew an opening demo flight of my Blade 500 3D at a fun fly recently. Below is the video (you'll see several sponsored planker pilots at the pit area towards the end of the video). I started with flybarless, so I'm still learning to fly with a flybar. It certainly feels different, and most of my maneuvers are still really sloppy on a flybar. I guess flybar guys had the same problem when they went flybarless. When you switch from flybar to flybarless or visa versa, you have to "tweak" all of the maneuvers you already know, otherwise they'll look like crap.

I flew my 500 3d lately as well, and coming from learning of FB'd helis I can tell you it's all about mechanical setup. You can make them twitchy or stable just by moving the fb weights, but you can't have both like on a Fbl heli. I still love my fb heli but my ar7200 equipped Goblin 500 is by far nicer to fly and quicker and easier to make performance tweeks to. Even the 300X feels easier to tune to what I like.
