Default 10s as 2x5s pack choices

I know this has been raised before, but I'm after some current info.

Looking pretty hard online and mailing some e-stores, it seems there is a scarcity of thunderpower 45c 4400 5s packs, two of which make a handy 10s setup for those with 8s and below chargers.

I asked a vendor who was located near thunderpower and he got back and said

"Thunder Power does not have the 4400 packs available. However, they do stock the 5000. In addition, they have 3800 coming in early next week"

so what are the best options for a logo 600 10s? the 5000 2x5s packs are going to weigh at least 200 grams more than the smaller choices, and be at least 45x45x280mm is that a big problem?

I have a pair of Thunder Power 45C 5000 mAh packs (2 x 5S in series), and yes, Kyle/Dave are running the 10S 5000 mAh pack in stick configuration -- described when I asked about the TPs in this thread:

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=176148

It's the heaviest pack I have, but let me tell you... the power is, in a word, insane. If you can't get the TP 45C 5000 or 4400 packs, I would also seriously consider the Hyperion G3 VX (35C/65C) 4200 mAh packs. Yes, the C rating is "lower" than the TP packs, but they're significantly lighter, don't lack for any power, and I can "feel" that the helis is lighter and more nimble than with 5000 mAh packs.

BTW, my CG is spot on with the packs pushed all the way back in the battery bay, but that may be because of the few extra grams on the tail with the Quick UK tail and a Microheli aluminum boom brace.

yeah I got a few of those hyperions with the order, to give me something. But I'm very curious to run with the TP as well.
every place is sold out. But I can wait.

I'm waiting for the TP 4400 packs (5S) too. In the meantime the Hyperion VXs are doing just great, but I also just got some Zippy 5S1P 5000 mAH (30C) packs in the mail this week.

I have NO expectation that the Zippys will perform like the Hyperions and TPs, but hey, they were about $60 each including shipping. I plan to use them as my "first pack of the day" / warm-up / stick time packs. Again, I don't have high expectations, but I won't complain if they work as decently as many say they do.

Let us know how the weight works out...I'm flying 4000 turnigy's and think they are the perfect size and weight. I'm thinking the 5000's may be too heavy.

I think pack-decision is something which depends on your needs. If you're a stick-banger with high rpm and a .90 motor like a 4035 or Pyro you really should get heavier (more capacity) packs. If you're more like myself and enjoy flying smooth with light helis and lower rpm you should have a look at smaller packs.
I'm using 3,6Ah 10s 30c Turnigy for 60$ per 5s pack. I've up to 7min including things like tic-tocs and speedier-flying with 690s
