Default 3gx wont power up

Ok, so this is a brand new 3gx unit I just got in the trex 500 super combo. Anyways. I'll give you the specs before I post problem.

Flysky 9x (same as turnigy 9x)
FS-R6b (6 ch standard receiver)
stock align 70a esc/bec

Ok, I've tried this every which way and the 3gx will not power up. I hooked up all the servos into the 3gx, plus the 2 sets that have only signal leads that go toward receiver, plugged esc into throttle port on 3gx, then did the jumper from 3gx batt port to my receiver, and plugged in all the corresponding signal wires to my receiver. For the record yes this receiver is bound already. So I turn everything on with this setup and my rx light just flashes and nothing happens. If I run the esc straight to the receiver and bypass the batt port, same thing just a flashing light. If I totally disconnect the 3gx from everything, and run the align esc straight to my receiver on the throttle channel the receiver gets a solid light and the motor will spin up no problems. I have connected and disconnected everything about 8 times, what am I doing wrong?

Disregard, I figured it out. The receiver apparently has to be powered through the sbus port, and not the batt port on the 3gx. It's very clear once you get into the 3gx setup, but unfortunately you can't get into the 3gx setup until you figure that part out on your own.
