Default ball distance (rudder servo)

Just want you mini guys opinion on the minimum ball distance on the rudder servo. The recommended ball dist in the manual is 7.5mm frm center. I managed to get 90 deg on the arm (using the rounded one) but maximum hole dist on that arm is less than 7.5 mm.....its 6.5 mm. Can I go with that?...

What fbl unit are you going to use ? Depending on the unit it may have a trim function so you can get the tail servo arm perfect 90. That way you only need to be real close to 90 with an arm that will give you 7,5mm. Research your fbl unit. What tail servo are you using ? If a ds95I the 4 sided ones that have 2 short ones and 2 long ones are perfect. the short arm is just right as is the first hole on the longer arms. You should be able to get close to 90 as it does not have to be perfect but your unit may be able to trim it perfect.

BeastX and Hitec 5084 on the rudder. Most max I can get I think is abt 7 mm.

I have had many beastx equipped helis including my mini that now has hc3sx. I would think that 7mm spacing will be just fine. There is no way to trim tail servo with beastx to get perfect 90. I have just found servo arms that come as close as possible and have never had a tail issue from the 90 being a bit off.

Put the ball at 6.5mm / 7mm and see if you get full travel on the tail slider. Assuming you have a fast tail servo then that should work OK

is it ok wt the beastx if I put some subtrim (tx) to get 90 deg. Btw, I never use subtrim on my other two FB 450s, I got perfect 90 deg on both rudder servo arms.

Fixed a headspeed issue with my mini... Last week I almost crashed, five centimeters above the grass the heli stopped falling.
When I did my maiden, my belt was turned, turns out my headspeed then was somehow remembered by the YGE governer.
Redid governer setup, suddenly don't need godlike collective management skills anymore....throwing it around on the field.

Yes, that's the Lynx clamp and Lynx vertical fin. I use lots of their stuff on my helis, great functional upgrades

The edge 60 mm se tails blow kbdd 61mm out of the water. They are worth the extra dollars if you are at the point of not slaming your tail in lol!
my experience with the kbdd 61mm tails is they vibrate. No amount of balancing fixed this and I have tried them on 3 different 450 helis and about 5 different tail manufacturers. they do not vibrate a ton on the mini but they vibrate. The edge are super smooth and no flex. Just no comparison. OH! and the kbdd's make an awfull screeching sound also.

Wow I'm glad I got some edge tails. I got the regular tail not the SE. But I also never had any problems with the kbdds on the mini. My tail is beyond solid with them.
