And there has been plenty of American input (as if that matters) by Bert Kammerer and Kyle Stacy, plus also the famous Tareq Alsaadi. (Google these 3 pilots if you haven't heard of them ) I thought everyone knew this.

Actually Align is based in Taiwan and they started off making vacuum cleaners and machining equipment (they still make some of that stuff). Alan does not design their helicopters. Alan, like their other sponsored pilots, just flies them, demos them in videos and in person, works as sales rep, and gives the the actual design team his input on how things could be improved upon.

Wow sorry dude I had NO idea how new you were. You should really give yourself 2-3 years of heli experience and a few more thousand post credits here before you put in too much input here. Yikes! I won't blindly classify you as a troll.. but will see you more of a newbie.. there is a big difference. But really... you should pipe down on these big topics for a while yet ... don't burn bridges.

A couple of observations you can't compare anything but 700s - and that's what the OP wanted anyway. Comparing your experience of an align 450 with your brand new Mikado 690 (or whatever) is not a comparison.
I fly an Align 700n and a Goblin 700 for me... 1) the Goblin looks wayyyy better. 2) the Align flys really (really well) its my absolute favourite goto machine 3) The goblin is much much faster 4) The goblin sounds supreme 5) The align is built like a tank To say the engineering is better is foo foo I don't fly engineering I fly the package. Is the tail all over the place on the Goblin - no, does the align fall put of the sky every other flight no. In short they are both great helis, and I belive the 700 size is the size and all manufacturers put out great models in this size. What they both have and what imho is THE most important requirement for a HeliFreak is PARTS AVAILABILITY Go buy your one offs - be the envy of your club mates - but I would say the manufacturers that are here for the next two years (The align I fly is from 2007 and still has next day parts supply) are Mikado SAB Align Its a practical approach but one that offers good looks - SAB, and an every day flier - Align. |

I really like the Goblin design (appearance) and color scheme. Their visibility is so much better than many other brands. As a relatively inexperienced pilot, this is an important factor for me. I was recently looking for a 550/570 size heli and eventually ended up choosing between the Logo 550 and Goblin 570. The Goblin kit was only slightly more expensive. Besides that, they pretty much accept the same electronics. Therefore I choose the Goblin and I'm still very happy I made that choice. If at some point in the future I want to go for a 700, I'd do the same comparative exercise as I want to pay a good price for a great heli, not spending additional €'s if I don't have a really convincing reason. "Goblins look sexy" was definitely a factor in my choice, but not at any price.
