Exclamation HELP!!! DX6i MCPX V2

Ok, got my MCPX V2 in the mail and programmed the DX6 as per instructions. Plug in the heli, hold up on bind switch and turn on the radio. The swash plate jumps, all controls work BUT I get no throttle. What's going on? When I use the crappy included DX4, it works fine. (Other than the trim won't balance). Since I live in a semi, I want to minimize extraneous gear so want everything to run on the DX6. How do I solve this issue?

Thanks to all.

Try moving the back switch in the upper right top of the transmitter. Also, are you holding right rudder when you bind?

Just to clarify a few things. When pushed the bind button, did you see the flashing change under the canopy (binding in progress) and turn into solid light (binding done)?

Also: you are only trying to bind once, then turn everything off, back on without binding again, then try the controls, right?

Make sure to set the heli down on a level surface quickly after plugging the battery in, some folks had problems when the heli tried to initialize while moving in the hand and it failed.

BTW the process you need to follow with V2 (right stick etc.) for your computerized radio is described here: http://www.bladehelis.com/ProdInfo/F...structions.pdf

I tried shutting off and then back on. No luck. I tried shutting off, unplugging, plugging back up and back on without bind switch and it did nothing. Not applying any throttle, rudder or pitch. All switches off. Still giving me only right stick with no left stick.

ETA: watching light and it is acting appropriately. Blink til bound then solid. Just no throttle available.

Forgot to push rudder all the way to right. Will try that later today.

Thanks again

You will probably get more support in the mCPX forum.

Figured out what I was doing wrong. After binding, I turned off, unplugged, plugged back up and turned radio on. Oops! I am supposed to turn radio on first, then plug up the heli. It works great now.

Thanks for the help.

Just as a quick note, unless binding, you should ALWAYS turn on the TX first. Think of it as having the control mechanism enabled before you enable the whirling blades of death they need to control.

When you shut down, you would not turn off the TX before unplugging the battery from the model (unless testing a failsafe).

So order is:
  • Turn on TX
    • Engage TH, Normal mode, Throttle to 0.
  • Plug in battery on model
    • Ensure it is bound
    • Test model servo operations (cyclics, tail(optional on mcpx))
  • FLY (for mCPX (for me nano), I switch to stunt mode, engage timer (ensuring count down) and disengage TH).
  • After landing, remove model battery (TX still on).
  • Turn off TX (even if going to fly again, or another model - DX6i timer bug).

DX8 does not have the DX6i timer bug, and timer starts and stops automatically with throttle output, but I still turn the TX off between flights out of habit and to conserve TX battery.
