Are you letting the vbar initialize before you power the esc?

Vbar initialized cause I do see the awash going up and down
But not 1 beep from the esc only lights described above

And I just power on the stick pack to the esc
The vbar is connected to the esc so powers on through that
I don't connect separate

Please correct me if I'm wrong here

I had the same issue. I'd try 2 things,
1. Disconnect the WR Bec and add the slave cable direct to RX, make sure you reconnect the red cable on the master cable . Basically, you are checking to see if the Kosmic internal Bec solves this
2. Disconnect motor cables and switch them around, I have no clue why, but this worked for me.
Try either or separately.

Good luck and please post results . I've been having strange issues myself, unfortunately not a lot of info on troubleshooting available yet since the Kosmics are still fairly new

I really hope it works, would be sad to have bought a $600 brick
And sending it away takes forever

But it is strange my progdisc doesn't even recognize it
It sees something connected but that's about it
So I can't even update the kosmic
And yes my progdisc does have the latest version software

Did you leave the red cable connected on the master lead?

I suspect this is the cause off your issues as 3 flashes is to do with voltage measurements.

If trying a mode 1 reset is not working, have you tried to press the button? does it go in to programming mode?

If not its likely it has to go back as you need to disconnect the red wire when NOT using the onboard BEC.

Operation without BEC:
When operating without BEC, the red receiver cable is to be disconnected from the plug or simply cutted.

OK, from what you have told me and that it flew for one minute then shut down. Now gives 3 flashes error code it will need to go back.

Is your battery pack charged full? Main pack not buffer.
Can you maybe try a different motor? Have you checked current motor's continuity?

Lotsa replies, but let me ask you something. Distilling this down as simply as we can, if you just take the ESC/motor with one lead off the master, plug it into the throttle channel (reversed if Futaba) with a default linear curve, power up the transmitter, and then plug in fully charged packs, the ESC will not enter programming mode when you press the button on the side? Not talking about anything else. Just trying to get it into programming mode.

Nope doesn't go into programming mode at all
Tried that, also tried reinstalling the 3.0.1 software (which went ok according to the progdisc)
Then tried it again, but still same result, reset the esc using the progdisc, still the same issue
So I think it's just a case of a bad esc.
I do hear something rattling inside if I shake it (not big,it's a very fine rattle sound)
I now have another kosmic 160 in it and That one works flawlessly
And now since the new one is in it,when armed all lights are off
I can remember that was not the case on the broken one
The lights were always on even at the initial arming it made before it shut down.
But at the time taught that's how it was supposed to be.
