Default 30" or larger wingspan slow flyer?

Hi guys!

Used to fly planks back in the day with my dad, mainly all nitro of course.

I'd like to get back into it as flying the helicopter all day can be a bit mentally tiring. Looking for a kinda large electric plane just to fly around at the field and enjoy while relaxing. I'm not a speed freak, but don't want it to max out at 20mph either.

I have 8ch RXs so something with flaps is ok, plenty of channels.

I'd prefer ordering from hobbyking. As much crap as everyone talks about them, I have yet to have a problem and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be back into the hobby.

An ARF kit would be nice, as HK seems to have a good selection of medium sized birds under $150 with servos, ESC, and motor.

Recommendations?

I don't have any personal recommendations, but make sure whichever one you get has an adequately sized ESC. Quite of a few of the HK plane kits come with undersized ESCs that will literally burn up in a few flights.

The HK fixed wing lineup has been changing a lot. They carried the Sheng-Teng MX-2 and the Robbe Pitts S-12 for a while and these were fine models that take well to stick banging aerobatics and controlled(?) flight into terrain. HK sold both for about $108 at the time, and the costs for those models are a lot higher anywhere else.

Recently picked up the 3D hawk for park fly & indoor. It's alright but not stellar. The Mini Swift and EPO T-45 are some other trashflyers on my list but the hanger is currently full.

Rules of thumb: EPO or EPP, 5* listing, 5* reviews with the exception of whiners & dingalings, leary of their massive EDF offerings.

What was I thinking? Yes, slow flyers.

AXN Floater Jet (EasyStar "clone" with ailerons)
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=8359

Can be hopped up by clipping the wings.

ASW-28 (powered glider)
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=8372

Also both on my list.... long-term listings that continue to go out of stock.

Awesome! I think that AXN floater is exactly what I'm looking for. Is something like that still capable of loops/rolls? Just some really basic aerobatics without huge huge space?

It's not blistering in any way but it'll loop & roll. There's a guy in the club who clipped his, installed FPV, and gyros to stabilize pitch, roll, and yaw.

Here's a nice review on YouTube -- [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9PkAxlt_sg[/ame]

Watch the whole thing but I'll tell you the flight segment begins at 7:45.

Well, this only uses 4 channels, but the McFoamy from http://wmparkflyers.com/McFoamy.aspx is a very cool plane. It can fly fairly quick, but can also just putt around. BUT, it'll do all the flips, spins, loops, harriers, you name it, you could ever ask for!

I LOVE mine!
