Thanks Bob - Worth noting folks that many parts of the Logo 600 are the same as the Logo 14 - tail slider - tail hub and I think much of the rotor head so much valuable info can be gained from checking out Bob's Logo 14 thread

That's a very interesting question - the mouldings are very good quality and well thought out - the blade grips for instance are huge and really well reinforced, the feathering shaft is chunkier and the flybar 4mm as opposed to 3mm. I think the quality of parts is better say 9/10 compared to the T600 7/10 - the gear wheel mouldings are very substantial and well produced. The engineering is rather more elegant - double herringbone main gear, double radial/thrust bearing tail rotor, ball links at the end of the boom braces and the frame is really well thought out so I'd have to give it a big - but I love the T600s too !

What do you think about the flybar being 4mm instead of 3mm when the other parts of the head are plastic? It seems that the flybar could destroy more of the head in a crash since it will transfer more destructive energy into other parts.

I guess that's true but the job of the flybar is act as a rigid bidirectional strut between paddle and mixer arm so I assume thicker is better from a functional point of view - designers of model helis, like cars have to trade off durability against function and fashion - the Logo ethos seems to be to put the latter two first!

Does the 3mm flybar seem less rigid on the Trex600?

I don't know if Bob's getting a V-Bar with his L500 - I'll probably get one eventually but wanted to see what the stock machine was like as this is my first Logo.

Yes the T600 3mm flybar seems very flimsy by comparison with the Logos 4mm version

OK tonight we put up a modded Frame video with comment to highlight that the bearing mount M2.5 x 10 bolts are TOO SHORT to safely engage the Nylock nuts - you need to get some 12mm ones or else Loctite them.

Also put up the servo installation - quite straightforward and no real probs - just mount the elevator servo first so you can get at the output arm through the left aileron servo hole.

Put up the rotor head setup - pretty starightforward and the ball link lengths come out as per manual except for the servo to swash links which might be expected to vary - also posted 1st FF and hover in the Build Thread

Thanks for all the info. The videos are great!

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the best way of stretching the L600 to accomodate 690mm blades? ie. what would I need?

Cheers,
Griffo

Mercuriell, thanks for the videos. How does Logo 600 compare to Trex 600 and which one do you prefer?

I love them both - I like the gutsy, tough, simple design of the T600 and I love the floaty, soaring, effortless grace of the LOGO 600 - they're both great helis and I think it a shame that many Mikado acolytes look down on and badmouth the old T600 !!!

I hereby hang my head in shame...

There's a reason I'm still hanging on to the T-Rex 600 even though I have a Logo. They're both still a blast to fly!
