Default 'spiralling' manuevers ?

anyone else do 'spiraling' type maneuvers in the sim, or real!

i'm trying to learn two types. the first one is a horizontal circuit, rather like a very open rolling circuit in a spiral shape. i am doing them backwards and anticlockwise but you could do it a few other ways.

the other one is a clockwise backwards circuit that instead of being horizontal, spirals up into the sky, to a spinning knife edge. then you switch direction with a sort of elevator flip and then decend anticlockwise, in an inverted tail first spiral. i usually morph into an inverted piro circuit or something at the bottom. looks pretty cool.

ive called the first one 'the corkscrew' for want of a better name cos it reminds me of that type of rollercoaster, and the second one 'the double helix', cos the shape reminds me of the dna molecule. not sure if they are original - probably not, but i've not seen on any list or video so thought id mention them.

difficulty level. first is not too hard if you can do circuits well, and is pretty safe as you are high up mostly. the second is very tricky indeed, not so much the basic spiral shape, but the circuit makes it very hard to do. i cant get the shape all round and usually crash somewhere along the circuit. could be quite impressive if done well though.

I do rolling circles forward/backwards and knife edge death spirals IRL
They are easy to do but hard to do precise.
Tumbling circuits (ail rotating arround circiut / 8 ) also.
Piroflipping circuits SIM. Lines IRL.

I do not understand your figures quite good.

You should post a sim vid.

I am still working on smoothening the frontflipping sideways loop.

One of my favorite videos right here.
Check the whole thing out.. however... especially look at what he does starting at 5:18. It's like the heli version of "the blender" for planks. Inverted piro'ing wall of death, that starts slow and lazy and picks up speed the closer it gets to the ground. Really cool looking.
The rest of the video is awesome too.

oh dear. i'm not sure i like him very much. i dont think there was one manuever i really totally recognized. talk about moving the goal posts lol

every time i watch his flights i'm reminded how far i have to go.

anyway, back to mortal 3d. here is a video of my spiralling maneuvers. i managed to eventually get it to go right round in a circuit. the much easier manuever that spirals up starts at about 1 minute 20.

phoenix sim heli spiralling manuevers (9 min 9 sec)

i love this manuever. although its basically an open backwards rolling circuit, the effect is very different, and its far harder to do. its the corners that are hardest. but if you can graze the ground on the lowest part of each spiral, it looks so cool!

Mortal 3d. Lol. That may be one of the funniest phrases I've ever read on this site.
It's true though. Nick is the Thor of the RC heli world.

What i like about his style in this one is the precision he steers it at the 5:18 arround.
