I would have to get rid of the 7HV as it still sits in the box.....
6HV maybe 1 more hour I will have ready for test hover just need to check blade pitch. Only 3 more holidays next month daughter's bday, anniversary, and xmas.... then it shall be 7HV time......

my experience:
I own both the 6hv and 7hv, both on v-stabi : 6hv : + smaller heli + cheaper + sleek shape + very fast + very agile - frame low, and electronics placement not optimum 7hv : + feels very, very solid in the air + flying like on rails + built-up is easy, low component count + maintenance easy - more expensive (kit , batt's and blades) (BTW the original motor has descent power for most people ...) sebastien

How do the flight times compare, all else been equal.
Id imagine, like others have said since the weight is so light on the 6HV you can fly with comparable power to weight but for longer? |

I had/made that choice as a matter of fact. The 7HV is sitting on my work table.

I fly at lower headspeeds on the 7HV, and can easily fly beyond 8 minutes if I want to. 14t pinion, 4926-510 motor, like to fly at 50-60% throttle. If I run it beyond 2000, I drop it to about 5:30 and still have 30% left. I have three entirely different flight packs on my 6HV, and easily fly 7 mins on any of them with 11t pinion and 50% throttle. In both helis, I just find they make more noise at high headspeeds and don't really do anything any better.

Who makes the motor you are flying? I haven't seen a 4926. I am curious about it though.

In my case:
6HV running for five minutes uses about 1900-2000 mah out of a 3000 mah pack. 7HV running for five minutes uses about 3000 mah out of a 5000 mah pack.

Sweet, good times on both then. not to hijack the thread, but my 6HV willl be here next week, Ill put atleast 6 months on it and then have a crack with a 7 after that I think. Cant afford both, but cant only fly just one
Not sure about the flexing in at the back of the frames around the boom clamp on the 7HV tho, Its the only thing about them that doesn't quite sit right with me, Im sure its no problem tho |
