Default Hitec Eclipse QPCM/35MHz possible problem

My original report.

To keep a local copy:
Quote:
ok, this may be only MY transmitter, but then again this seems like a software issue.

Eclipse software version: 1.2 (according to display version number.)
Eclipse rom pack ver 1.2 (977100602)

Receiver used: Hitec HPD-07RH

Description:
If throttle channel (3) is reversed, epa for channel 3=100%/100%, and throttle stick at lower endpoint when powering up receiver end, receiver fails to recognize signal from TX.

Basically the RX/onboard electronics behaves like a power-up without TX powered.

As soon as any channel changes position on the TX, the RX picks up the change. If channel 3 endpoints are less than 100%, initialization is correctly performed.

Since this lack of initialization pulses would not count as an "ok" signal, I doubt if this would create a potentially dangerous situation with electric-powered models.

However, a problem arises with Futaba Heading-hold gyros. They need to be properly initialized in heading-hold mode, and no stick interaction.

Problem can be bypassed by moving the throttle/collective stick a bit up on the scale before powering up the RX end, just remember to place the stick back at the bottom before attempting to start the heli engine
