I do but can't get one yet due to $$$. Maybe I will sell one of my 90's to get it.

Ok, here are my thoughts. I think they hit the mark on the price. Pretty competitive for MA. I'm not sure about direct to swash on a 50. Maybe someone with experience can chime in. I'm also thinking I may want a torque tube over a belt tail.

I think with good servos like JR 8717's or futaba BLS's there will be no problem with direct to swash. as long as you use a really strong plastic arm or a metal arm so it cannot flex. it will simply give you less things to wear out. yes, it does put sideload on the output shaft, but with 2 ball bearings in the servo it is not a problem. all the giant scale airplanes I see use 400 oz servos with a 2 inch arm on them and nothing to support the output shaft.

as for the belt drive tail, it is a very well designed belt drive and the belt should last a long time. I have heard they are going to come out with a TT for it. the one good thing about a belt drive tail is you don't have to worry about scooping the tail on low moves like with a TT.

I am hoping for a torque tube. My 90's and 600E 600N have me spoiled on the TT. I own 3 1/2 of there 90's and love the quality and way they fly. The price is not bad either considering it's an MA. Would like an idea on replacement parts costs. Art Hughes is attending a funfly I am hosting at our club and he stated he should have his in the air by then. Looking forward to seeing one in person.

what funfly is this? I would love to come up and talk to art more about it. I talked to him at MHA, but did not get to look at bobby's heli to much.

Yep same weekend. It was tough for me to pick a date that did not conflict with other local clubs or other events at our own club. Art told me he will be at DE on Fri and Sat, he is hitting us on the way home Sun.

I am already thinking about my setup, do you think 90mm V paddles or 100mm V paddles?

I am thinking 100's would be to big. 90's would be good right?

I quite like my Razor nitro 50 , the prototype for the Furion 50 .

No hassles with the direct to swash servo setup, the E-razors have that too. dont know why you'd want the latest servoes etc either , I have 9252's on an E-Razor , and its awesome!
9451's on the N Razor are magic....

The suppied white plastic MA paddles work great too , but the Funkey carbons give it lots of bite.....

Tail belt is a bit of a power sucker , TT'd be nice , but lotsa extra $$$$ then .. I run the belt pretty loose , with an extra guide assy fitted to the tail box , on top of the belt.. works good...

Its just a great heli , but hey , it IS MA.........

I'll back you up here pete, those Razors are are kick a55 in the air, even with those crap servo's I cant get my head around the cyclic and collective of them airbeaters!
I wish I could get my Stratus to crack like your Razor.

BLS451's are not "all that" and way over priced for there spec IMO you can do better for half the price!

I also found some 85mm V paddles still instock. should I go with 85's or 90's or would something else be better? I would really like to buy some V paddles before they go out of stock. but I would like to know which ones would be the best for the 50. I know on a 50 size heli with a 3mm flybar the 80mm V paddles work great. but on a 50 with a 4mm should I stay in the 80-90mm range on the V's or go up to a 95 or 105?

since there is so much adjustability in the head I would think I would be able to get it to flip quick no matter what, but I want to have a fairly good tracking setup as well.

thanks for any input guys

I have tons of video of Bobby flying the new MA50 at my field just before bobby got out of school for the summer with a few changes from the last one I saw him flying.

And honestly it's just sick! I was asked to not post the video's, partly because it had a lot of his XFC stuff mixed in, but since I considering myself lucky to have bobby as a friend and mentor I'm respecting his wishes.
But i will say this I've been flying with bobby on and off since they started the new 50 and compared to his BW Stratus - I used to tell him sometimes I swore his 50 would out fly his Stratus at least that's what it always looked like to me.

Now it's been a while since I've seen him fly a stratus other then my own as he's been working on the new 90 but this last time around at my field he didn't have a 90 only the 50 and I just couldn't get over how fast that thing was. Heck I let bobby fly my BW Stratus and when ever I watch the video's him flying my stratus it always looks like it's about 1/2 the speed of the new 50. Granted my YS91SR wasn't running well but even still collective change, roll rates, etc. hands down the 50 wins.

If my wife and I weren't expecting a baby I'd definetely be getting one. And honestly if there was a major fuel consumption difference between the 90-50 I'd sell my stratus and get the new 50...

I say that only cause my old 1999SE 60sized used to get like 25-30 minutes a tank. compared to 8-9minutes now.
