Default Help: How to modify T-Rex 500 head for flybarless setup?

Need help in figuring out what / how to modify T-Rex 500 head for a flybarless setup. What modifications would I need to do? I've seen two different setups, first being links directly from swashplate to the blade grips, the second being from swash to control arms then to blade grips. Which is the better of the two? Anyone have the specific lengths required for either setup?

Is anyone using some sort of guide for the direct swash to blade grip setup? If so, who has them?

Thanks in advance.

There is a pretty good thread on RR with pictures...I personally went straight from the swash to the grips, and am very happy with it...works great and is very easy to set up...

Did you switch from stock trailing edge to leading edge position on the grips?

Hello All

What I like about this mod is you do not change any of your servo ball positions and you use the stock linkages with very minor mods to the original lengths(a turn or 2). The mixing arms(designed and made by Chris Harmon) bolted to the head are the only non stock components(they do use the stock bearings and spacers).

This setup has almost 0 axial play and is extreamly smooth. The best part is almost all components are from Align so I can run to the LHS for replacements.

Here is a vid of a flybarless 500 using a ProBar system and this head mod.

eco8gator's setup (and with no electronic nannies) has been around for almost 20 years:

I understand what you are saying here, but you are actually adding parts, isn't it easier to just get longer rods and go direct to the grips?
