Default When you go from V4 to V5?

Going to update my 3gx from v.4 to v.5 and I know you need to do the setup again. How do you guys do that? Do you clear the model in your radio and start from scratch? Would it be okay if I switched into TH so that I have a linear pitch curve and switch to 100% on my D/R (Since I run D/R), and then do the update?. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

You shouldn't need to clear the model out and start over. I always program a linear pitch and throttle curve in normal mode (I assume you know to disconnect the motor). After loading new version on 3GX, go to DIR mode and check mechanical setup. Complete DIR setup at 50% pitch. Do the tail setup menu next. Then power down, hook the motor back up and do the throttle calibration. After that quick test to recheck movement directions and go maiden it.

I guess one thing to add would be to make any flight mode/software changes you need/want after the throttle calibration. Sorry about that.

Default better to start off with a new model in TX

Some of us had little issues with V5, and the general consensus is to start afresh with a new model in the TX, otherwise some little bugs may creap in. And make sure before you bind that both pots on the 3GX are at 12o'clock.
