Default Another shogun owner

I have had my shogun for a few months. I don't have much time right now, so look for more info later, but to make a long story short I love the heli!

Bad:
Brass tail gear came loose. CAed it back with no further failures
stock motor is weak for 3D
stock paddles make cyclic slow
Does not like being driven into a parking lot from 50' up.

Good
out of the box, a very stable, easy to fly micro heli.
With Piccolo Pro paddles and a brushless motor, it is a good 3D machine! (my brushless is from justgofly.com, distributed by Performance Hobbies.)

I am using a CSM 560 micro gyro and an Expert micro super servo. I will give more info later when I have more time.

IMHO, much better than my FP and CP piccolo with over $1000 in it. I have less than 1/2 that in the Shogun, and it is twice the heli!

Seems like these opened up the micro-heli section of the hobby for a lot of folks. They are more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!

My Shogun arrived from Mac's a few day ago but it's number three in the building order. Number one and two are other guy's machines and they are promised for next week.

What is the choice for brushless motors for the Shogun?

I think the Castle Creations 25amp ESC will be my choice? But not sure about the motor????

I am using CC 25. I have a Chile Pepper Motor, and the 400DH and an AXI 2208/20 coming. The Chile Pepper has GREAT power but needs a heat sink to keep it cool. I also need to drop down to a 9T Pinion with it.

Hey Thanks, Will. Keep me informed on how the AXI 2208/20 does. Where did you order it from? Price?

I have it on order from Mac's along with a 18T Pinion. I am not exactly sure of the Price, but Mac is a good a price as anywhere I buy. www.hodgeshobbies.com

Mac is a super nice and cool guy to do business with.
