flew this morning, 242 loctite is holding.

may move my servo ball in one space on my tail servo. I'm at like 15A gain on my futaba, that's super low.

I had screw sticking out of arm on tail ball link also. Fixed that. I put 61 mm blades on tail to replace 70s that were getting ground down!! (70s came with mine) Tail was down to low 30s on DX8 so I think smaller blades will help in more than one way

I think it's just a lower gain machine. Mine is doing well with edge CFs at 38 on the DX8.

My SK720 is currently set to 50 on the nose ... tail stops on a dime with NO bounce.

Jeff. Would be good to see the rest of your gains as I'm throwing a spare 720 on mine too, 540's out of stock here.

Default Warp 360 build tips - Spool up/down noise?

Any follow-up on the noise issue when spooling up and shutting down? I was playing with setting up the Castle governor last night, had telemetry on, blades off and put iPhone under the heli and shot video to capture the sound. Noise kicks in between 400 and 500 rpm, it is loud and distracting to say the least. Cannot be good. I tried to capture the rpm and slowed down and went through rpm range again, then ran at 600-700 rpm is all and spooled down again. Holding the heli you can really feel the vibration when the thing is screeching. Then I could feel some vibration and hear a different noise up at 2400 and above rpm. Think that was in the tensioner pulley, though not sure. Am lining details out/fine tuning and plan to fly it again the weekend but the noise really is bothersome if nothing else.

I'm using the Basic 3D settings with cyclic gain at 54% and tail gain at 50% ... no other tweaking yet, and I don't expect to have to do much more tweaking. The handful of outdoor flights I have now, it feels really good so far.

I do have a some vibes I need to deal with yet, but I'll get to those slowly ... they are not enough to hamper self-level when I activate it.

Nothing to mention yet, but I assure you that there will be some answers coming soon ...

LOL ... I can imagine. Good outdoor flying days are few and far between right now, and the gymnasium we fly in is too tight with too many people to do any 3D with anything larger than a MiniCP or mCPx

I did just that on the 7hv on Toms ( Snaaakey ) recommendation and couldn't believe the difference it made.
Take a look at this video on [ame]http://youtu.be/HByqi6cPlgM[/ame]

No excuses.

My motor has a sticky spot when turning it by hand, I haven't powered it up yet, dunno how it sounds.
I pulled the can off, the bearings are fine and nothing is scrubbing inside.
I think I must be irregular magnet spacing? Some appear to be not pushed down all the way.
There is a fair amount of goo in the can, I'm guessing its there to try to balance it.

I agree
Just finish my build and have same screaming sound while spool up. Its just a few seconds when motor start itself. Sounds like a raccoon screaming to defend their young. I bought a fine heli and received a mother raccoon in the motor. ROFL.

I carefully did full inspection and did not found any problems with the pulleys, belts or anything else than that raccoonish screaming motor.

Maybe is something related to slow start up coming from esc. Not sure.

I will fly anyway.
ROFL
