I no Outrage have the G5 but do you recon they'd bring out something to make me sell my trex450 Pro ie 3s 2200mha spec.
I'm pretty sure Charlie could design a stonking 450 :-)

The usual response is that the 450 market is already flooded with models, and that R&D to produce one may not be cost effective, plus it would be cloned within a couple weeks after release anyways.

Although it would probably be a great heli though!

The prob with the g5 is doubling up 1300 3s packs.
I just think Outrage can really become Market leaders with a 450 for the masses :-)
The G5 doesn't do it for me and I've read a lot about it :-(

there is nothing stopping you running the g5 on 3s 2200mah if you so wish-just motor it accordingly.

If your doing your homework, just about every thread out there has references to 3s 2200 setups and that they work just great.
On the other hand I cant understand what is appealing about a 3s over 6s setup...

6S benefits
  1. low headspeed
  2. less wear on parts due to low HS
  3. longer flight times 7+ min
  4. near perfect effeciency
  5. doesnt even get warm

so why are you apprehensive? I just don't understand?

You can find apparently decent 6S 1300mAh batteries for like $22. No need to use 2 1300mAh 3S packs

At the mo running a O550 on 6s and a pro on 3s.
And 1 cellpro 10s
If I went g5 on 6s that defo means another charger another Motor another Esc and Lipos.
Plus find a Job lol
Not sold yet I suppose it's the Align connection between G5 and V1/2 puts me off :-(
The only thing similar to a G5 I've seen was a rather nasty early rotaworks conversion that a mate had uwww.

The g5 will run just fine on a regular ol' 450 setup, I got mine to replace my worn pro and dropped everything fine. Same flight time and better performance on a slightly lower headspeed. Charlie already designed an awesome 450, it's just old news now. Here's my 3s g5
