Red face 4g3 a handful

I have been fiddling with my 4g3 and i will tell you it is a handful compared to my Blade 400.
i am about to put some weight on the flybar and try and calm it down.
i have the new 2801 transmitter and still trying to learn to tune this heli with that transmitter. whenever i go to lift off it lays way over to the right looking at it from the tail. and i do mean way over. my swash all looks level at midstick.

it is a fun little heli, just a handful even in a big area. i have not tried it outside, it has been a little too windy for it.

anyone familiar with new transmitter? i learned the lesson of buying locally the hard way. i got a good price but poor to no after purchase support.

looks like i will be posting her quite a bit.

any help you guys give is always appreciated.

Happy to help out and welcome to the gang!

Yes, the 4G3 (and the 4#3B, for that matter) are indeed quite "squirley". They are probably the most difficult helis to fly due to their small size.

Wrapping some solder or wire around the flybars as a weight will help to tame it down.

They are a real pain to get off the ground... the best advise I can give is to give yourself ample room on the left side of the heli and give it a good "punch" of throttle to get it off the ground and high enough to get out of its own rotorwash. Once airborn, the trick is to gain control before it gets too far away from you.

Lots to learn, and the best way is to ask questions!

Have you turned down the EXT on the 4 in 1 at all? - first thing to do if you want to calm the cyclic down. You can do this with the heli powered up if you use the included plastic screwdriver, and you'll see the adjustments as you are making them. Another thing that stabilises it greatly, almost too much, are the wooden blades that Terence sells - they will go a long way to getting you used to the heli.

It does take a bit of getting used to, but I wouldn't fly it indoors apart from test hovering it - and not until you are used to it either - it really needs a lot of space since it reacts like lightening to stick inputs - as you'll have noticed

It can handle more wind than you might think - it gets blown around a lot but is always controllable - I would get it outdoors and let it rip - it's a LOT of fun

oh it is lively alright.
the blades seem to be foam, i guess the wood blades would tame it. i will try some solder on the flybar as well.

the transmitter is real nice but i have not had a chance to go into the settings too much yet.
has anyone have any experience with the 2801 yet. i think it is fairly new right?

put some fine solder on the flybar, made a big difference.
the EXT was already turned all the way to the - side.

now it is a little more manageable. very touchy on the controls but that is to be expected on such a small heli.

thanks for the input guys.
