I think the best solution is one already mentioned here, solid pinion and new main gear with OWB. Non driven tail in an auto is not an issue on a 450 IMO. Then it should have no problem handling the power of the 2520.

Well actually, I have not have any problems with the OWB, but with the belt slipping on the pinion with the 2520.
And I've changed belt, pulley and pinion for no difference.
I have to run the belt real tight even on 5S so it doesn't slip on pitch pumps.
On 6S I've haven't had a flight without it slipping.

I think the mini just isn't designed to handle that much power, the X3 or the warp are better platforms for this motor and can handle it's power without issues.

Yeah you're probably right. And the pulleys are only as wide as the stock belt so no chance of using a wider belt either.

Yeah plus running a bigger belt would probably increase drag even more, and not sure if it would fit in the tail boom. You'd need a new tail case or to seriously mod the stock one, as it only has enough width for a stock pulley. Really way too much work overall.

I guess it's for a reason that the warp 360 runs a 6mm wide belt on the motor.

I think this heli has limits and does not like to be pushed. it is old school. Plus limits of a single belt system.
