Default HELP!

I was flying well the other day and had everything trimmed up nice. Well today I got a Colco GY400 and on the stock Belt CP transmitter, I couldnt get it to work or it was broken. So I replaced it with the Ikarus gyro I had on before. Now, when I go to take off, if I just bump a little rudder, it spins wildly in that direction. It will do it in both directions. Anyone else ever see this happen before or am I screwed. Like I said, last week, it would fly (All I can do Is hover) perfectly. Now I have a spinn freak. Thanks in advance for the help.

Your gyro is reversed flip the gyro reverser switch on the gyro. If there is no switch you need to rotate the gyro itself to point the opposite way. If this does not work post a pic or a link to your gyro.(the Ikarus one) I don't think the GY400 will work with the stock Tx.

Yea, I had this problem the other day. It was the reverser switch on the gyro. Flick that switch and it should be ok

I tried the rev switch on the gy400 and that didnt work. Now that you mention it, I think the ikarus is upside down. I'll check back in a minute.

The GY400 looks good but mine has been sitting in the box since I got it. I know it will not work with the stock Tx. I'm going to give mine a go when the DX6i gets here. Glad you got it worked out! BTW Welcome to the forum! As you can see we are masters of all things Belt CP. If you are ever stuck just come here and I'm sure we can help!

The speed at which the piros can happen when near the ground as a result of a reversed gyro can be really scary. Particularly when indoors in limited space, which is where I normally do my initial test hovers. You have to throttle down pretty damned quickly. I check it now before I test fly by moving the tail and watching for the correct pitch change.

+1 sutty. I have had the piros from hell in the apartment in Q8! So like you, I now always check the tail is going the right way AND the gyro is acting the right way before spooling up indoors!
