Post Discharge curve graph @0.6A to 3.8v

Nice, Internal Resistance measurements too.

Reminds me of this test someone did a while ago.

https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/...ID=50275#50275

The Hyperion 240mAh is a beast. Love the voltage curve throughout the discharge.

Anyways, all these cells are new...and was just waking them up from storage. Will now pull 1A on them. (Max my charger can pull) Here's a glimpse of the graph thus far...

Ok, the attachment feature shrunk the graph too much. So I'll link to it instead. (It will make the forum page look funky)

I posted a lot of discharge graphs on the hyperion 240 vs other mcpx batts available at the time last year. if I had the time I would do the same with the nano batts, but I'll just go by how they fly

Also remember properly taken care of hyperions usually take 40+ cycles to break in....

I think the TP 240 for the mcpx would do good in the bl nano, except at that price you can get 2 hyp 240s that already have the right plug on them

Oh, AND I think some deoxit on the battery contacts will make a difference, especially over time.

Dylan, I'm gonna get your mild kit as soon as its ready. I'm trying to figure out the best batts to get for that.

I think I want the Hyperion 180's or 240's. I know the 240's have more power, but they are also heavier...

What would you recommend?
Thanks

For the mild, the stock Eflight 150's are awesome.

Joe, that was what I was planning on getting more of...but then the graph above make me think that the Hyperions would be better???

I'm liking the eflite150's for the mild kit the best too.
Have tried power edge, nano, G-force and eflite, and the eflites can maintain the headspeed pretty well

Did also a test with heating them up, but they seem to perform nearly the same (poor) cold or warm. 2 mins on the Miniaviation, 2:30 on the eflites.

Will try some more flights (have now 10 on lipo one and 5 each on the other both), but so far they did not impress me at all...

I have 5 new Miniaviation 190's cycling right now, IR's looked good out of the package. Giving them 10 cycles on the charger before I fly with them. 1C charge to 4.18 volts 3C discharge to 70%

I ordered 5 directly from Miniaviation. How long did yours take to arrive?

Miniaviation 190's at 100 degrees F are VERY good so far on the Mild!

3:50 of 3D in the shop to 3.78 volts after a rest, starting temp 100F, ending temp 94F Ambient 65F Good power till the end. 75% flat TC

29.77 grams AUW with them. .9 grams heavier than the Eflite 150, .3 grams lighter than the Hyperion 180

Eflites 130, 144, 131
Glacier 156

IR's after 10 more minutes in the cozy (average temp 100 degrees)

Eflites 111, 120, 115
Glacier 115

So, a $15 heating pad set to low with batteries folded inside of it for 10-20 minutes makes a huge difference in battery performance. The IR's get higher as the temp drops too, 69 degrees is on the warm side for most of the country right now!

Haven't tested 10 minutes set to medium on the heating pad yet. Also the heating pad shuts itself off after 2 hours.
Would this method also work when recharging batteries? Or is IR only a factor at high discharge rates? I have a few batteries that come off the charger at 4.1 and don't perform well anymore (nanotechs) so I'm thinking I could keep them warm while charging by placing them on top of my charger's laptop power supply which gets warm. Bad idea?

If anyone is looking for a great deal on the eflites, go to advantage hobby, USE the "partsmate" to find the nano cp,
http://www.advantagehobby.com/?source=2012partsmate

add 7 lipos to your cart, and add coupon partsmate5off to save $5 bucks. You basically get the lipos at 3.89 a piece including the shipping. Best deal shipped i could find.
You need to order 7 though, or add other items to get above $25 for the code to work
