Talking heres how to modify your helli to fit 6 and 5 cell packs

ok i took the battery tray and moved it down about 33mm and drilled new holes. here r some pics. they have all that extra space under the battery tray for the speed controller. but i have my speed controller on the side of the heli so its empty underneath the tray. and the 5 and 6 cel slide in the frame perfectly here r some pics and i hope this helps you all out. my heli works great like this

The 3700 FP was the largest I could fit BUT the bottom of the canopy would not go into the frame slot... However no problem as the batt was long wnough to keep the canopy from coming off.

140x45x21mm is the size of the 3s pack im going to use.

So the FP is 160 mm x 43 mm x 40 mm
And mine would be 140x45x42mm

Consider the Protek 4000 5S 20C as well. My friend has been using it on 16T.While he has not had it long enough to comment on lifespan he does get 7:30 of sport/3D putting back just 2800 so there is room for mor flight time or more aggressive flight.

At $130 for the pack its well worth the try. No modifications need to fit but it is slightly nose heavy. You can drop the battery tray between the frames and then adjust the battery to get the CG correct.

Its also just 5 grams heavier than the KP 3200.

That looks pretty darn right to me!

Have you checked/tested what it does to CG for a given pack?

i fit this 5s pack in...JUST BARELY with no mods. you have to find the sweetspot on the battery tray....1/8" too high or too low and it won't go on.

dims are 40 x 134 x 38mm

On the Protek 5S 4000 you have a few options. It will go on with canopy mounting as normal if the battery is positioned correctly. Fitting it this way with a full size tail servo and the ESC under the front tray, the heli will most likely be slightly nose heavy but does very well. If you moved the ESC back to the side mount you might balance but not sure.

The second way way is to move the battery up on the tray slightly to get better balance but when you put the canopy on, put the lip of the canopy above the frame slot and not in it. The battery wil hold the canopy in place.

The third way is to recess the battery tray into the frame and the Protek will fit between the frame. Recessing allows you to move the battery up the tray some and mount the canopy as normal.

Some also redrill canopy mount holes but I prefer any of the above over this.

All of our testing has been with the ESC mounted under the tray so moving it back to the center frame location, which basically takes the ESC weight out of the equation as far as balance is concerned, might give you the correct CG so you can just mount the canopy as in the first method.

I did my test flights with my TP 5000 V2's. They were the only thing I have right now. It actually flew pretty good, a bit nose heavy but Very stable. LOL ( thats because its a pig). My question is: I was going to get FP 2500 6s packs, but how will the TP 3300's or 3300 FP's work? They are about 115 grams heavier than the 2500's but im into mild 3d and sport flying. Do you guys think these would be good packs to get? How much extra flight time with the extra mah?

Evo 25 2500 6s = 400 grams
Evo 25 3300 6s = 515 grams

TP 25c 3300 6s = 515 grams
TP 25c 5000 6s = 726 grams Just a bit nose heavy...

I'm running 5S 3700 EVO25's. I'd prefer a lighter pack with the stock motor. It flys heavy. (Not real nimble, imo.)
