Default 480XX vs 550SX — too close in size?

Do any of you have and fly both the 480XX and the 550SX? Are they too close in size, or is the difference enough to be meaningful? And which do you fly more?

I have both, love flying both too.

Size wise they are pretty close. This photo doesn't help as perspective makes the 480 look a little bigger.

My advice. Get the 550sx first

I don't have the 480xx to compare but the 550sx is a very well balanced heli.

Get the 480 and then the 600..

Can share packs between the two, and 3300mah packs are good value

having a 550sx is a good idea because you can quickly turn it into a 550se.

What do you think which one would be better for 3d if someone wants to use 6s 5000 mah packs.

I have a Logo xxtreme 480, and I used to own a Logo 500 with 550 blades (I had so much fun with it I wrote it off). If the weather was good, on some work lunch breaks, I used to take both down to an abandoned park and fly both of them in the same session.

Why both?, because I couldn't decided which was better. Just get them both, its the only way.

If you want to split hairs, here are some pros and cons which are very minor and negligible.

Logo 500 , takes full size servos, therefore if you decide to get another helicopter that's full size, you can take the servos over.

Logo 480, mini servos, so the servos are condemned to other helicopters of the same size.

Logo 500, took the wind better and was more stable.

Logo 500, the batteries are a bit easier to take out than the 480.

Logo 480, if you use the same packs, uses less power, so longer flight times.

Logo 480, just the look of it is a good enough of an excuse to buy it.

Which ever way you go, you cant go wrong.
