Default 95 octane and trm231?

In sweden 95 octane it's the lowest octane we can get. Will the engine work fine with this or do I have to find another kind of fuel such as camper oil. I belive it's more expensive.

Thanks /Ted

You can use the higher octane fuel. The performance may be a bit less. Camper fuel is another option and is preferrable.

Default white gas... expensive!

I found out that white gas is pretty expensive here. So it's not an option.
1 Gal White gas= about $30

1 Gal Gas95oct = about $6.6

So is it possible to make any changes to the engine to make it work better with the 95oct fuel?

Increase compression ratio sligthly? How do you do that the easiest way?

Adjust the ignition curve so it's set a little bit earlier?

It would be great if I could get some advise from pros about what to do and how to do it.. Ofcourse on my own risk.

So what do you think guys? Is it possible? Have anyone done anything like this before?

Thanks for great help and knowledge! /ted

The TRM motor has already had the compression raised so you do not need to modify the motor (I would strongly advise against it). You can use the 95 octane fuel just fine. You will not get the most possible power from that fuel, but that is OK too. It will still have more power than the stock motor.

Bear in mind that 95 Octane in Sweden may be the same as 87 Octane here in the states.

Different countries grade it differently.

If I was having to pay what what Ted has to pay I'd want to think it's 95 also. I think Chris hit the nail on the head, Make our countrymen think it's worth more and we'll get more TAX!

Very good point Chris! The fuel we burn in the States is rated against a US standard for anti-knock properties. Other countries may well rate theirs differently.
