Checking cg on logo 600
Hey guys,
Am i correct in checking the center of gravity by holding the heli by the head in front of me with the skids pointing out and see if it rotates up or down? I know this is in the align manuals, but does it work for every fbl heli? If so, my logo 600 is quit noseheavy.. The nose drops straight down when i hold it up in front of me. I never noticed untill today and have been flying it like this for allmost a year now without noticing it. I'm running only 10s 4000mah, all the way back... I was quite surprised to see the cg so far off to be honest. Sent from my iPad mini using Tapatalk HD

Yah I flew my Logo 500 nose heavy like that for over a year cause I couldn't get the packs past the pinion. Now I'm using packs that can slide past the pinion and it balances like in the Align manuel. It's probably better for the fbl unit. I couldn't really tell the difference.

I don't understand how it's noseheavy with such small batteries. I've heard of people running upto 5000mah. How do you get those in?? I even have to lay my 4000 packs with the wires on the side or they won't pass under the pinion support...

I don't think you can fit 5000mahs with the counter bearing fitted. I can slide a 5000mah pack in as i dont run a counterbearing but they only just fit.

I've got 5000 Tunigy's in my 600SX with counterbearing. It is a tight fit and I had to remove a little from the inside front of the frames. I've got some Revo 5000's (stick pack) coming and they fit easily as I have friends who fly with them.

Yes, that is the best way to check CG, but you do have to back the pinion off the main gear to be truly accurate.
Also, unless you are into a lot if piro moves, you may not notice that the CG is off. The FBL unit will correct for it, and in some helis, it will correct for it in Piros. I have found that if my CG is off to far a medium speed stationary piro gets wobbly. I have a logo 600se, running two 4600mah packs, needed to add almost 2oz of weight to the end of the tail. <-

I like to check my cg this way. Take two pieces of string or shoelace and create a loop on both sides, check the cg with lipo and canopy on it. Move your lipo until you have a perfectly balanced heli
Mark your lipo's, so you know on the field exactly how far the lipo should slid in the helicopter.

Ive always wondered which way is the best way to balance. When i do it the align way (sideways) the nose just drops like a rock. However, when i put two fingers under each side of the main blade bolt, and gently lift up, its perfectly balanced.

The sideways cg check is a simple but effective way to check your cg especially on a smaller heli like a 450, but I prefer to balance my heli's with a string around the bladegrips as you see in the picture above (I think it is more accurate imo).

Checking cg on logo 600
I guess we finally dound a design flaw in the logo I'll be darned if i add weight to my logo. I love how light it is. I would swear it weighs less with batteries than my goblin without batteries. And the logo is only a good inch smaller...
