Default More hovering time using 3s or 6s?

Have anyone done any testing on the effect of changing the motor for pure hovering time? For AP work, longer flight time is always better. I'm curious if changing the stock 3s motor on a 450 to 4s (or even 6s) would make much difference.

Conceptually, for a given wattage, it's more efficient to do it with more Volts and less Amps. Now, real world, can you measure the difference? I dunno.

You'd probably get more bang/buck with Asymmetric blades. I actually just ordered 3 sets from Spinblades. 325, 600 and 700's, plus tails.

I'll be testing out the 325's on my 450 shortly. Main issue I've heard is the "ballooning" problem, but I don't think that will be a problem for me anymore. We'll see.

I have the Spinblades. It is much heavier and make the heli behave a little different. I haven't time the hover time yet. Since the Spinblades for 450 is not that much different from the 3D one, as you can see the estimated time gain from their official website, I don't expect too much from it.

I only have 450s and a 700e. I'm still afraid to put any fancy electronic on the 700 yet, nor test anything on the 700 at all, since the crash cost is a bit too much for my wallet.

Default flight time

For longer flight time you need to increase the amps in you battery. By either running two of the same amp batteries in parallel or increasing the size of you battery. If you increase the cell count you only increase the power to weight ratio.

Let me rephrase, for the same amount of power (V x A), also roughly same amount of weight, would a 6s set up better or worst then 3s setup?

For example, 1 pack of 6s 1800mAh battery with a 6s motor versus 2 packs of 3s 1800mAh battery (or 1 pack of 3s 3600mAh battery) with a 3s motor.
