Question 90 SE collective arm

Any that built an SE have any issues when installing the collective arm to the main frame? As soon as I install mine and tighten up the left hand pivot bolt and then the elevator control lever the whole collective arm is tight moving up and down, all the collars and washers are where they go it just seems like theres something missing. If I tighten the elevator lever and the left hand pivot bolt then back them off a turn its fine but that does not seem like the way it is suppose to be.

Sorry to not be of any help....
but wanted to mention, I'm having the exact same problem.
Unfortunately, I bought mine used, so not sure if was put together correctly.

As far as i can tell by looking, there is only ONE pivot point. I've tried loosing up the nuts/screws/bolts I can see... with no affect. I have the manual on .pdf and was just about to look over that, and possible disassemble/reassemble the parts in question....

Just wanted to throw my problem in the ring as well.... If I find an answer, I will surely post my findings... Plan to also bring it by LHS when heli expert gets in later today...

Good luck,

There is only one pivot point, mine seems like theres not a washer where one should be, I am going to mess with it tonight and see what happens, sucks cause all I have left to do is build the tail and its done.

I just finished checking mine....

Make sure your screws for the washout arms aren't screwed in too tight... mine were... Once I loosened it a turn are two.... the whole thing loosened right up....

I DO have a washer on my screw on the opposite side of the frame of the elevator pivot.

Hope the same works for you....

That wont be the problem with mine, mine was tight before any of that was installed. Thanks though. Little issues like this is one of the reasons I was going to go with a 700 cause the suport on here compared to support for 90's is a lot more but Im a raptor guy lol

only other thing I can think of, which I just did, is oil the barrings..... seem to make a difference with mine..... but again mine was used, and I don't know the last time it was flown.....

Good luck!

My collective tray moves nice and free now, I did what the manual said and loosen the two bolts if needed to allow the tray to move but it just didnt seem right and I was a little shakey about doing it.

I found out the washout arm screw was on so tight, it actually bent the washer....!!!!

What I found kind of amazing, my 8717HV was able to move it.... (and, explains why the link kept popping off....hehe)

I actually ended up picking up the metal washout assembly, and the other metal head parts as well....

Now, I just need to figure out how to fly it... hehe

Yeah my washer had a little bend in it but that was all my fault from making it just a tad too tight lol. I was up at my LHS and a guy had his 90 up there and he had the same issue but once he tightened up the screws then backed them off a hair everything was good, hopefully loctite does its job on those two screws lol
