Default Main gear removal

There is no way to remove the main gear from its location, not enough room in the frames. Tried pulling the motor back etc, there is a slight cut out but not enough on my frames. At about 2mm short.

Will have shave it with a dremel drill, no biggy.

Anyone else have this issue?

BTW she is one tough bird. head into the ground with main blades and canopy mounts broken that's it!

The way the skids are designed is very clever, you'll never need to replace em on impact. They just move out of their slots.

Cheers

No issue here on mine, but it is a tight fit ... I have to slip the belt off and move the main gear slightly forward in the frame to get it out.

Haha. Glad you figured it out. I was scratching my head, if you got the main gear in then how can you not get it out.

On my frame it was physically impossible for the gear to slip in our out Had to remove approx 2mm.

It seems the warp was designed with very tight tolerances for the cutouts (had to dremel a bit to clear a belt guide as well), but with pretty low tolerances in the actual manufacturing. It wouldn't have been the end of the world to add 2mm extra for the pulley cutouts instead of leaving 1mm to spare on each side...

I have a first batch kit though, it might have been fixed in subsequent batches.

Brilliant!

After 9 years, your post saved me from wasting a lot of time and effort to replace the OWB.
The Warp remains one of my favourite helis to fly.
Thank you!
