This question has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

Will the Co pilot ll work on a Trex with the new DFC head if the Co pilot is used in place of the Align 3GX for stabilization, with a separate gyro for the tail?

The 3GX is the FBL controller and you need to wired to a separate Rx..

Rx>>>>>CPII>>>>>3GX>>>>>>servos

Can't use CP2 in place of a FBL controller, they do different things. What Night means is you can use it with 3GX, but only if you go with a separate Rx, the signal flow being Rx --> CP2 --> 3GX --> servos

Good explanation about why you need both stabilization and FBL system, here:
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...=440814&page=7
It refers to flymentor, but the same exact principle applies to CP2.

Thanks nightflyr,

Well, yes, that's a good sign when a thread this big suddenly goes quiet.

All has been said and done, the product works as advertised and everyone is out enjoying the CPII !!

Just one Q's

I have a Trex 500 I'm going to be fitting this to.

I see someone (maybe it was your good self) who mounted it on a 600 behind the rotation bracket ?

Is that possible with a 500 ? Looks like it should be ok if i can make up some kind of alloy bracket ?

Cheers,

Paul.

Hello Paul,

If one of these is what your asking about?..

Providing you have the clearance and get no interference during operation you should be fine.

Thanks Nightflyr,

Yes, that's the one. (Bracket Mounted).

Can you buy these anywhere or I'll have to rustle something up myself.

Cheers,

Paul.

You were almost ready to hang up the hobby. I could claim extreme stress induced temporary insanity in your defense, though

As to the last time I ventured here was when the completion of the R&D on the lower hard deck was completed and ready for release for the public.

Odd though there doesn't seem to be all that locomotion commotion after the fact of the release as there were those had before its extensive testing and correcting for it to be released with a reliable record for both Helicopter and Fixed Wing.

Hello Paul,
Sorry to say mate, your going to need to break out some raw stock and a few tools, unless you can manage to whip together something that will suit your needs from spares and such..
( That's what got me started... If you can't buy what you need...make it yourself)
