Default Time for Trex?

Ok, about to lose my DINKy status, so last buy-up for a toy...

Had plenty of great advice here...
- seriously

Going to sell 1 Bee and keep the other, then go Dx6i with a 450 sport T-rex...

This is the last toy I get to buy for a year (or 2)..do you think I should go the extra and buy a dx7 or maybe move to a 500?

As I say, last buy I get to do for quite a while, the 450 sport is my $ limit but I could wait a little longer and go the 500 (and still keep my bee with mods...)

Once again,

Yep if you can get away with it surely go with a 500!!! Much more stable, from what everyone is now saying dont even fool around with a flybar setup anymore, go straight to a FBL, you will be glad you did!

Hmm....difficult one and the truth is that the only right decision is what is right for you.

I personally couldn't have made the jump from HBFP to a 500....it's a massive difference. That said, people have done it, so it was obviously right for them. Do I want a 500 now...? Hell, yeah!!

Maybe I just take things too slowly. I have crashed my HBFP more times than I can count, but I have crashed my Belt CP just once (before I got an HBFP) and never crashed either of my 450s (one heavy touch down snapped a skid once if you want to count that)...so maybe I am just over-cautious.

My planes used to be the same story...but my MX2 has spent more time nose down in the mud than it has in the air!

Anyway...to sum up....if you are the cautious type, go 450. If you think you would be making an unnecessary stepping stone out of a 450, go for the 500....I'm fairly sure it where you (and most other rc heli pilots) will want to be at some point...

This is great advise,

I ordered a 450 clone only becuase I didnt want to pay for the 500, ( I mean I didnt want the wife to see what I paid for it ) it should have gotten here today, obviously the UPS man is a day late.

But I wanted to go for the 500 since the local guys I have been talking to here have shared there experiences with the 450 to 500 + stepps and all of them say they wish they would have never wasted there time with the 450...

But in the end Mr. Warmwater is very right, it should be what you think is right for you.

Heard Spektrum is coming out with a new DX7 called DX7S (or is it C?) Either way its an upgrade and will cost the same as the current DX7.
Better investigate that, youd hate to bee outdated a week after purchase.

I got so many expenses, with a daughter in college. The 450 is about my limit. Also, I have other interests and a bigger heli, as nice as it would be. Just isn't in my game plan. My recent heavy crash with my 450 just cost me a whopping $30.00, freight included and a new shiney x-heli $7.50 painted canopy to boot! Considering that I watched the poor thing beat itself to death after it flew into my garage floor after bouncing off the wall prior to putting a dent in the lid of my rollaway tool box! (Luckily my wifes van was not in the garage)!

Personally, I find my 450 quite easy to fly. I don't plan on flying in a hurricane and it handles the 10 mph type breezes with ease.

In fact, my next heli will be a 250 so I can fly in my yard and front court. Guess I like em fast and twitchy!
(Not to mention a bit trashy)!

Haha I like em a bit trashy too, so you can beatem up a bit and not feel bad about it!!

Anyways the UPS guys came today with my 450 !!

This thing is wicked!! I am very impressed with EXI quality for the price, I will post picture tomorrow.

I cannot wait to get the electronics for it and spool it up!!
