Is this motor being sold by any US distributors. I'm in the market for a new motor. Thanks.

I do not think their 900kV 4020 motor is on the market yet. I at least cannot find it anywhere in the world.

Guys,
The Xnova 900kv is being being custom wound for us by Xnova. We have a batch being manufactured now however it is a very limited run. If you are chasing one PM myself or Twill as it would need to be ordered in for you.

Whilst i dont have actual power figures for you as they are custom made, i would pitch this motor around 2100w mark. She is a 8 pole monster. They weigh roughly 350g.

They are super efficient (heck im only running a Talon 90 and both motor and speedy run really cool) and im currently running a 19t pinion at 2800 h/s, getting around 4mins on a 4500 pack. I plan to run a 4200 pack shortly to drop 250g in weight.

That opens motor choices quite a bit to lower kV motors.

What would be in your opinion motors to choose between?
Considering to try 20T.

I ordered the Pyro 650-78 and want to try it with the 20t pinion. I believe it should get me enough traction for the belt despise the insane 3kW motor power. Almost pulled the trigger for the 650-78 Competition motor but damn - thats another 0.5 kW. As much as I would like the color scheme but that would be way to much.

So motor should arrive next week. I have the new heli I want to use for it and maybe I get it in the air in about one week from now.

Started the build with the Pyro 650-78. Will use the 20t pinion.

Nicd! I'm looking forward to hear your thoughts and how it compares to the 600.

The scorpion 4025-890 is working nicely for me

I run rail 516, 2400,2600, 2800 rpm, 17 t pinion seems ok, at 2800 I am only occasionally seeing PWM spikes close to 100.

An 18t pinion might be better, getting the idle2 throttle curve down in the 60s, a good spot for the helijive on this Hali.

I will say at 2800 rpm with 516 blades, this Heli is a hornet.

Heli seems real happy with the 516s, I am using gens ace 3800mah batteries which balance the Heli well.

I have tried 3300mah batteries too. I like both of the sizes for different reasons ... 3800 wins though, with the 4025-890kv With a 3800 mah battery and 2800 rpm on 516s this Heli has punch.

since the motor mount can fit 49.8mm motors, could a KDE 600XF work? (44mm) It's almost the same KV as the other ones, I don't see why not? Any reason it wouldn't?

Simple answer - I only see the option of an 1100 kV 3kW motor (or next lower kV rating seem to be 530kV. So 1100 3kW is simply putting you at below 17t pinion for an extremely strong motor. So you are running risk killing the belt. If they had a 800kV motor with 3kW power it would be cool. This motor at the moment does not fit the specs.
There are plenty of 900 kV motors with 2000 - 2500 Watt output.

I love the KDE motors to death, guess it just isn't suited to this heli.

The pyro is a common choice for most of the pilots as it is readily available.

As the Aussie dealer for HD and Xnova we had a batch of 4020 900kv Xnova motors made up to match the HD's requirements perfectly with a 19t pinion. This motor has proven performance as well, so its personal choice really.

I fully agree with Schulzie -> its not about better or less good. Many of us have a preference what we use.
I think either choice is great.
