Default *SIGH* What's going on with my vibration logs?

Two maiden flights today with my SK720 on my Outrage 550.

The flights went very well. All settings are default "basic 3d" with the exception of control rate @ 280 (which still seemed kinda slow)

Had a bit of a tail way starting out at 50% gain (GUI settings are default, so 75% gain 60% hold) with the TX at 50%.

Went all the way down to 28 on the TX I think before it stopped wagging at hover. I have no idea if I need to change the rate gain or the hold gain... seeing as how you don't set the SK up in rate mode... you set tail pitch to 0.

My blades were out of track, but not horribly so I just went ahead and tested everything out. Feels MUCH MUCH more connected than the 3G. Never thought I would know what the meant, but I felt better in control with the SK than the 3G. Had no bobbing so I left the cyclic at 50% (on my TX) I think I'll have to increase it as I got a tiny bit of porposing in FFF.

Flips and rolls felt sooo much better. Tail still kicked to the right on heavy collective. I have my ICE 100 governor gain set at 17, seemed to be a good number, I'm going to mess with collective comp or whatever it is. I didn't think much of the SK when it was on my T500. On the outrage, what I consider a MUCH BETTER all around heli, felt sooo sooo much better.

SO MY QUESTION....

Flight 1 had a LONG idle time after landing. Left the heli on as I was speaking to some people who wanted to chat about the heli. Forgot to unplug it. So I can see why the first one won't open.

2nd log however, Shows a vibration level, but not an actual graph... I tried zooming in as far as I could go.

The GUI states 7.1 as the last vibration level. Really high. Again, blades were out of track so I knew to expect that, just wanted to also see if some tail vibrations were prevalent. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Anyone care to assist?

[EDIT]

Looks as though the first log is too big to upload... so I completely understand why it won't open in the data plotter (it's 3.35MB) I'm sure the heli was sitting idle for a good 15 minutes of chit chat.

LOG1 is the one that won't actually display a graph.

Yeah, that vibe is pretty serious. I have seen worse. I would be interested in seeing the after log. I am curious as to if the balancing work eliminates the smaller harmonics the tail seems to be inducing through the entire freq range. Or if those are caused by something else.

I'm having a hard time balancing the tail...

I have one of those low friction prop balancers. So the shaft is too big to fit through the tail blades, so I'm balancing the entire rotating assembly (grips and blades)

I had to wrap the shaft in some electrical tape to match the ID of the tail hub. No problem there.

Seems that this prop balancer is too sensitive. There is only one grub/set screw on the tail hub of the outrage, and after verifying both tail blades are 5.5g each, I put the entire mechanism on the balancer. After ensuring as best as possible that the blades are centered perfectly in the grips. I did this by tightening the tail grips just enough to allow them to move when span up, but not so loose that the fall. So I hooked the tail up to the outrgage, and ran to full RPM. Shut it down and carefully tightened up the grips.

It seems that it wants to settle with the blades perfectly level, but ALWAYS with the grub screw on the bottom. If I rotate the tail 180 degrees so the blades are level, and the grub screw is on the top, it will slowly rotate so the grub screw is on the bottom.

If I spin the tail assembly in the prop balancer as fast as I can by 'flicking' it, it takes a LOOOONG time to stop, and the shaft doesn't oscillate on the prob balancer.

Now it would appear my ESC has took a crap on me, so I can't test.

I also was just using zeal tape, with no metal pad. I've since switched to PU gel, metal plate, 3M VHB, SK and strapped it down super tight.

Just need to wait on a replacement ESC now
